Song #155

Why by Derivakat

It was released on May 16, 2021

Fun Fact: Why is a song created by Derivakat, and is inspired by the lore of the Dream SMP. The song is about Wilbur, or more commonly referred to as Ghostbur. Unlike Blue, the song takes a more darker and sadder approach, that refers to the past, and what’s happened. "“Why” conveys the feelings of intense loss and hopeless despair in the wake of tragedy. […] I’ve tried to tackle the different ways ppl respond or react to war on the smp, whether they are the initiators, aggregators, bystanders, or victims of it" -Derivakat via twitter

Song #166

Rock Soldiers by Ace Frehley

it was released in 1987 in Ace’s album Frehley’s Comet

Fun fact: Ace Frehley wrote this with Chip Taylor. Frehley explained to American Songwriter magazine in 1988 how their collaboration worked: "Chip wrote most of the lyrics and I wrote most of the music because I've known Chip for years and he was aware of the incident that went down in the summer of '83 when I had the car accident and he thought it would be a great idea to write a song around it."

Song #170

Hot For Teacher by Van Halen

It was released 1984 in their album 1984

Fun Fact: The song tells the tale of a boy who suddenly finds himself paying a lot of attention in class … specifically to the person teaching it. Its lyrics were inspired by somebody who once worked at Cherry Lawn School, a boarding school in Connecticut David Lee Roth once attended as a child. The outro of the song was taken from an earlier demo of the song “Voodoo Queen” from 1977.
