The full orchestra going as if Alan Menken would systematically come after their families if they didn't play harder. This is one of my favourite shots from the whole movie (I’ve been obsessing over the opening sequence for weeks - the song and the emotions are just so good every time!). Its a stupidly subtle thing, but the way he lifts the baby up and then just dramatically holds it there, and then the wind blows to reveal this gesture and silhouette extremely clearly like he has made his choice and the audience realize for a second time even more clearly just what he is doing. It’s just. UGH, IT’S TOO GOOD.
