Palpatine v sith!Obi-Wan will always end in ol’ Sheev getting his shit wrecked, not because sith!Obi-Wan would be necessarily smarter, more powerful in the force, a better fighter w/e than Palpatine (he probably wouldn’t be) but because unlike canon!Obi, any dark or evil version of Obi-Wan would have zero compunction about actively using the frankly insane levels of emotional, mental and spiritual influence Obi-Wan “all he’ll see is me” Kenobi has over Anakin Skywalker.

All of Obi-Wan’s canonical manipulative bastardness, his and Anakin’s legit mystical bond + codependence, Anakin’s deep seated insecurities, need for love and approval and obsessive tendencies, and an Obi-Wan with no ethical or moral hangups?

No thought process behind this, I just wanted to draw more ponies (specifically with matching color cutie marks!

@fialleril and @booklindworm and many others have created the beautiful dictionary for Amatakka and I wanted to try translating this nursery rhyme to the best of my abilities! So! Here's my super rough translation of "Red Bird" into Amatakka:

Note, there are no direct translations for a few words, so I'll make my own + add them at the bottom!

"Red bird, red bird, come and play"

Tavekriti, tavekriti, kinta iti ula-vikka Directly: {Red bird, red bird, come and play}

"Depur's at the market for the rest of the day"

Depur malla a upetzu kolruta kashka ereibu Directly: {Enslaver gone into market may day end}

"Take a friend to hide while we pray"

Darra dera kinta a ta ek iti me dakkalu Directly: {Taken friend come into hideaway you and me pray}

"Then red bird, red bird, fly away"

Tavekriti, tavekriti, sese chella Directly: {Red bird, red bird, fly away}

My insertions to fill each gap + make words based around similar words/root words: Come - kinta (from kin - bringer + ta - hideaway) Play - ula-vikka (from ula - blue, symbolic of joy + vikka - genderneutral word for child) Gone - malla (from rymalla - goodbye) Away - chella (from chelii - runaway + malla - gone)

and I’ve read some really good stories and poems and songs.

But I feel like we’re all missing a large part of any culture, that which is the foundation for all the stories and rituals and prayers of any group of people.

We’re missing the children.

what are nursery rhymes but stories told by children? what are games but rituals performed by children?

Red Bird

Red bird, red bird, Come and play Depur’s at market for the rest of the day Take a friend to hide while we all pray Then red bird, red bird, fly away

Its a combination of tag, hide and seek, and duck duck goose

Everyone stands in a circle (holding hands or hand clapping is optional)

One child is “depur at market” who walks inside the circle and is only allowed to look at the person in front of them, as if examining the slaves being sold

Another child is Ekkreth, the red bird, and their job is to sneak around and “steal” a child out of the circle and hide them without “Depur” noticing

If “Depur” sees “Ekkreth”, then Depur must chase Ekkreth around the outside of the circle, attempting to tag Ekkreth. If Ekkreth makes it into an empty space from one of the “escaped slaves” then they’re safe, and Depur goes back to walking the circle. 

If Depur tags Ekkreth before Ekkreth can make it back into the circle, Ekkreth must go into the middle of the circle where they are now “caged”

Once Ekkreth is caged, Depur goes around and finds as many escaped slaves as they can. Meanwhile, any escaped slaves can sneak up and “free” Ekkreth by tapping them on the head. 

If Depur can find all the escaped slaves before Ekkreth can be freed, they win and are now Ekkreth.

If Ekkreth can free all the slaves without being caught, they win.

If Ekkreth is caught, but Depur cannot find the last slave, that slave wins, and they become Ekkreth.
