ok so for those of you who were unaware, I’m directing a part of Hamlet Act 3 Scene 2 (specifically the whole Mousetrap play-within-a-play bit) for a competition. Does anyone have any advice, thoughts, or suggestions on how I could take this scene? As it stands I’m playing it pretty traditionally close to the book (line for line but also because it’s gotta be 10 minutes minimum) but open to fun interpretations as well if they’d work. any fellow hamlosers down to help me out

i have gotten in the habit of playing Questions (from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) with one of my friends, and I’ve been considering counting the phrase ‘what do you think’/variations of it as a foul because they’re getting away with TOO MUCH.

our average match goes something like this:

‘Would you like to start this round?’

‘I don’t know, what do you think?’

‘Does it matter what i think?’

‘I think it does, do you?’

‘Would my answer have changed anything?’

‘That depends on what you would’ve answered, don’t agree?’

‘Should I be calling repetition on these?’

‘That seems a little unfair, wouldn’t you agree?’

‘Can you answer this question in a way that does not involve the phrase ‘don’t you agree’ to any extent?’

‘…’

‘Hesitation, two-love.’

shortened for convenience (we have not fouled it yet because realistically it’s the ONLY chance they stand and we both know it LMAO)
