Theownerofshuanghua - Still Crying Over Yi City Arc - Tumblr Blog
birthday + 1 month gift for @sandushengshou š & @userdramas event 12: loss
i love when tragedies are like āthe love was there. it didnt change anything. it didnt save anyone. there were just too many forces against it. but it still matters that the love was thereā

WHAT THE SHOW WANTS ME TO THINK IS HAPPENING HERE: Jin Guangyao, criminal and political mastermind, is aware that Lan Wangji and this Mo Xuanyu impersonator are investigating Nie Mingjueās murder. In light of the news from Yi City (which he would have heard from both Su Minshan and Jin Ling) and Lan Xichenās uncharacteristic lack of communication, he is extremely concerned that a metaphorical noose is tightening around him.
WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE HAPPENING HERE: Jin Guangyao, event planner extraordinaire, cannot fucking beLIEVE that er-ge didnāt tell him that his brother and his brotherās suspicious boyfriend were coming to the Cultivation Conference. It is THE formal occasional of the year, its RSVP date passed weeks ago, everything was arranged PERFECTLY, and now heās got to somehow come up with two extra place settings, redo the ENTIRE METICULOUSLY-DESIGNED SEATING CHART to accommodate them in a way that befits Hanguang-junās rank yet also downplays the presence of the guy he publicly expelled for harassing his wife (whom he needs to track down and warn ASAP because sheās going to be even less thrilled than he is!) yet ALSO puts both of them far away from Jiang Cheng (who seems to have beef with them and seems more stressed than usual), and all of this has to be accomplished WITHIN THE NEXT TWENTY MINUTES AS GUESTS ARE ACTIVELY TRICKLING INTO JINLINTAI.
Either Lan Xichen suspects him of murder, or Lan Xichen did not think bringing two bonus Gusu Lan attendees to the Cultivation Conference with zero notice would be a problem, and some part of Jin Guangyao hopes itās the former because the latter is frankly more offensive.

WWX's second life isn't a redemption arc where he's atoning for his 'sins'. His second life is the reward for all the good things he did in his first life. WWX does NOT have a redemption arc because he never needed one.
Characters in The Untamed, Ranked by the Extent to Which They Are āThis Fucking Guyā
Sect Leader Yao: The ultimate This Fucking Guy. Chock full of opinions and all of them are bad. Couldnāt mind his own business if his own business was on fire. Also robs my terrible son Ouyang Zizhen of his rightful title of Worst Wig, which is rude and unnecessary. 10/10.
Su She: This Fucking Guy to such an extent that nobody knows his real name. I was shocked, upon rewatch, to learn that the other guy LWJ saves from the Waterborne Abyss and the guy who gives them up to the Wens were the same guy, and that guy was Su She. Only possible response to him isĀ āwho?ā followed closely byĀ āoh, THIS fucking guy.ā So upset by his TFG status he does a bunch of murders about it. 10/10.
Wen Chao/Wen Ruohan/Wen Xu (tie): Could be chill about being villains but instead theyāre allĀ ābluh, bluhā about it like theyāre a bunch of fucking Draculas. Nobody likes a try-hard, guys. 10/10.
Jin Guangshan: Canāt keep it in his pants; only person to achieve the title of This Fucking Guy literally as well as figuratively.Ā 10/10.
Xue Yang: Look, heās my emotional support sociopath too, and itās very sexy of him, but imagine trying to have a conversation with him.Ā Such an edgelord heāll stab a potatoĀ at you. People are constantly rolling their eyes as soon as his back is turned. 9/10.
Jin Zixun: Ugh. 9/10.
Lan Wangji: Listen, I love him, he is my favorite character, but you must admit that Lan Wangji is not exactly easy to get along with, and has no compunctions about being actively unpleasant to you if he doesnāt like you. I imagine meeting with him as Chief Cultivator being super stressful, even though heās generally a pretty fair person, because the risk of being obliterated by a look of Icy Disdain is high. Su She is already launching a 20-minute rant about how he should be higher on this list. 7/10.

look I am still so hung up on the hilarious disaster of an AU where, after fighting together in the war, Zixuan and Wangji and Jiang Cheng decide to swear brotherhood for solidarity and sect unity and because during the war they make sense (Wangji and JC bond over their relentless search for WWX, Zixuan and JC bond over being jocks who like dogs and like to fight people, and Zixuan and Wangji bond over how much they fucking hate smalltalk and public events in general) but post-war they have to do socialising and diplomacy and they just keep getting compared to
ā§ļ½„ļ¾: *ā§ļ½„ļ¾:* The Venerated Triad *:ļ½„ļ¾ā§*:ļ½„ļ¾ā§
ie. the men, the myths, the legends, the true celebrities of the cultivation world, and just. like. THEY WERE NEVER GOING TO WIN THAT COMPARISON.
they are The "Oh Please God Don't Seat Me Next To Any Of Them" Triad. they are The "How Many Hours Before It's Socially Acceptable For Me To Leave This Stupid Banquet" Triad. they are the "Are They Going To Fight Everyone Else Or Fight Each Other" Triad. I think Zixuan is technically Da-ge (as he and JGY are the same age, and JGY definitely comes across as being older than Wangji, so maybe there's a year or two difference), with Wangji in the middle (same age as WWX) and then JC, as always, being the perpetual Didi :) in terms of temperaments, JC and Wangji definitely clash the most, but unfortunately Zixuan just does not have his brother's de-escalation skills, so he's either bodily hauling them apart or just joining in the fight... and I don't know if them all becoming brothers-in-law would make that better or worse.
after finding out that 3zun are fucking, Zixuan definitely low-key is worried that's a Sworn Brother Thing that they're meant to be doing too and THANKFULLY the moment he opens his mouth about it both JC and Wangji are like "absolutely not" and Zixuan is VERY RELIEVED.
UNFORTUNATELY this does then leave us with...
(Wen Ning was invited, but Wen Qing wisely stepped in to say a firm Absolutely Not)
So, are you mad that I did a part 2? š„ŗšš
part 1
the thing with the guanyin temple scene is that jgy delivers this absolutely devastating speech that picks at all of the parts of himself that jc tried so desperately to hide and pretend didnāt exist, and jc is just standing there, all of his past mistakes thrown into his face as heās made the butt of the joke that is the ruin of his family in front of an audience of all of the people he doesnāt want to see him at his weakest,, and like,, itās this perfect move from jgyās part, at least in terms of emotionally destroying jc and giving jgy some room to breathe. but also jc would have reacted just as strongly if jgy had just called him a bitch and jgy is well aware of this and just wanted the chance to deliver a banger of a speech. either way jc is out of the fight
in an ideal world we'd have sect leader jiang yanli
On todayās episode of The Untamed cast making me cry, here is an interview clip with Wang Zhuocheng in which he can still perfectly recite Jiang Chengās lines, 3 years later. As he said, it was all ēę å®ę, true feelings.

oh my god. you guys.
based on the timing of his long-term tenure as Lanlingās least ethical graduate student, Xue Yang would for SURE have been there for JGY and Qin Suās wedding.
that wedding was already beyond salvaging, what with the Everything, but now thereās EVEN MORE.
The Untamed - Episode 48
[ID: seven gifs from episode 48 of the cdrama The Untamed, starring Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao at the Guanyin Temple. The first gif shows Jiang Cheng from the shoulders up, who's sitting on the floor and furiously glaring up at a standing Jin Guangyao. He grits through his teeth: "Jin Guangyao, how vicious you are."
In the second gif, Jin Guangyao swiftly turns his head back to him, a disbelieving look on his face. In the third gif, his expression gradually softens into the start of a smile as he fully turns his body to him. In the fourth gif, Jin Guangyao slowly begins to crouch, smiling all the way with a pitying look on his face.
In the fifth gif, Jin Guangyao reaches Jiang Cheng's height and slightly cocks his head to the left in a delicate manner, never breaking eye contact with Jiang Cheng. In the sixth gif, Jin Guangyao shrugs his shoulders barely a fraction and asks Jiang Cheng with a mocking innocent expression: "Am I?"
The seventh gif shows Jiang Cheng's complicated expression, the tense lines of his neck marking his working throat as he forces himself to stare back at Jin Guangyao without showing how his words affected him. The caption reads: "The Untamed - Episode 48". /end ID]

In MDZS thereās a main character of humble beginnings who was accepted into a major sect, and was scorned by the cultivation world for his unconventional and underhanded methods. Despite playing a big part in ending the Sunshot Campaign, he ended up scapegoated all the same by his so-called allies. It is undeniable that he committed atrocities with collateral damage, out of both survival and revenge, and made terrible mistakes and lashed out when trapped. All the same, his devoted Lan boyfriend unwaveringly stood by him no matter the cost, and went into seclusion after his belovedās brutal death.
Anyway enough about Jin Guangyao, letās talk about Wei Wuxian-
yeah hanguang jun tell us what did the yiling patriarch do
@mdzsnetāĀ || 04.11 ā½ Happy birthday to the fearsome Ghost General, Wen Ning!!
Wen Ning was indeed quite a timid person. But precisely because of this, he hid all of his feelings within him. Hatred, anger, fear, anxiety, pain - these were pent-up for too long, which is why he exploded after he died.
Twin Jades conversations:Ā āThere are no set rules. There isnāt a clear line between right and wrong.āĀ āIf people canāt be judged simply in this way, then how can we evaluate a person?āĀ
Yunmeng Shuangjie conversations: āYOU ATE ALL THE SOUP??? YOUāD BETTER THROW SOME UP SO I CAN EAT IT!āĀ āFINE! IāLL THROW IT UP, BUT YOUāD BETTER EAT IT AFTER I THROW IT UP!āĀ
