Beware of anyone who demands that you jump through hoops to prove yourself to them, or who tells you that opening your identity up to critique is a requirement to access community. Gatekeeping is common, but common doesn't mean correct or kind or helpful. Learn to trust in your own judgment and intuition, without depending on others to tell you you're "valid". Develop the assertiveness to tell gatekeepers and demanding people who feel entitled to your life story to shove off. You're the master of your own Self and the way you choose to label that Self - don't let people take that power from you.

i love you psychically disabled nonhumans, mentally disabled nonhumans, psychotic nonhumans, autistic nonhumans, blind and visually impaired nonhumans, nonhumans who use disability aids, non-speaking or semi-speaking nonhumans, visibly disabled nonhumans, chronically ill nonhumans, nonhumans with ptsd or c-ptsd, nonhumans who are a part of plural systems no matter ur origin, nonhumans who feel their disability affirms their kintype in some way, nonhumans who feel their mental disability/illness is a cause of, or related to, their kintype. you're the best, and you deserve to be proud this pride month!!! ilu <3

rodentkin snacks based off hamster treats i see in pet stores

1. these things because i see a lot of honey/seed/nut/tube things

2. I’m not sure if yogurt treats are healthy for hamsters, regardless I see a lot of yogurt drop treats, and luckily they make them for babies too

I’m sure yogurt covered pretzels or raisins would also scratch that itch

3. I’ve given my hamster popped corn on the cob, I’ve never tried to pop full sized cobs of corn so I would just go for normal popcorn, but it would definitely be a fun thing to try

4. again with the baby food, which I think is a huge plus for pet regressors, is baby puff cereal :) I’ve seen puffs at pet stores that look like you slapped a different label on the gerber puffs

5. very similar to the last one, cheerios, hamsters love cheerios but can’t eat them very often due to the high sugar content. luckily, you can probably handle more sugar content than a physical hamster, so enjoy being able to munch away. this actually goes for most things on this list so far lol

6. FRUIT!! VEGGIES!! these are very accessible and very healthy, hamsters love munching on cucumber, spinach, tomato, bell pepper, banana, strawberry, apple, and a lot more

7. a more expensive option than the last, but with a much higher shelf life is dried fruit, lots of hamster treat mixes include dried strawberry, papaya, berries, banana, and a lot more

8. this one might not be obvious but of course hamsters need protein! a lot of it! hamsters can eat tofu, scrambled eggs, cooked chicken, cottage cheese, and freeze dried bugs

9. i do not recommend feeding this to a physical hamster, the high salt and oil content will cause a lot of problems. this is just a personal thing that feels very hamstery to eat- french fries!! I’ve even seen french fry shaped treats at pet stores

10. NUTS AND SEEDS!! this might have been the first thing you thought of when you read ‘hamster snacks’ I would recommend trail mix, due to the similarities to hamster food mix, as well as nuts in their shells like peanuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. a lot of hamster food mixes have corn in it as well, so corn nuts can be a fun crunchy option.

BONUS! If you want the hamster snacking to be truly immersive and possibly shift inducing, I would recommend keeping a little stash of shelf stable snacks in your room (or “nest”) as this is what most healthy and or wild hamsters do to store food.

Alright pups, this might just be a ME problem, but it might also be a you problem as well. So, here goes.

DONT BE ASHAMED IF YOU HAVE A ‘COMMON’ KINTYPE.

Its not a bad thing! I’m literally a wolf therian, the most ‘common’ therian out there. When people think therian, they think of ‘on all levels except physical, I am a wolf. AÂAÁWOØOÖ-’ (person that quote is from is naiagoesawoo [tiktok handle], I have much respect for her, she makes awesome content and is and always will be a huge part of this community. Thank you, Naia!).

I think the ‘common’ theriotypes are mostly just newly awakened therians who haven’t explored their therianthropy a lot. It’s easy to just say, oh yeah, I have fluffy tail shifts. You know what has fluffy tails? Wolves. Or, oh! I have kind of long pointy ears! You know what has that? A fox. Those are the easy options because everyone knows and loves foxes and wolves and cats or whatever. So, they just say, yep, an animal with a strong connection to a group, must be a wolf. But maybe they’re actually a dog, or even an elephant!

Plus, people usually make fun of people with ‘common’ theriotypes. Hell, some therians might even think less of other therians with ‘common’ theriotypes, thinking that they’re just dumb kids who are in their Twilight phase, or even faking therianthropy. This isn’t true most of the time!

It took me TWO YEARS since the day I was awakened to find that I was a wolf. A lot of that time was me refusing to believe I was a wolf because it was just so damn common. You see it everywhere, it seems like everyone’s a wolf, you couldn’t possibly be a wolf. There was just some strange shame in thinking that I was such a popular animal. I admit, I’m a huge Twilight fan. At some points I even thought I was faking it. But I finally accepted it, and I’ve never felt so free.

Some of the theriotypes that I think some people consider common are wolves, foxes, cats and horses. If you are one of these animals, don’t be guilty. So what if your theriotype is common? Your theriotype is YOU. Never be ashamed of yourself for something that doesn’t hurt anyone else. There is no common in therianthropy, that’s why I’ve been putting it in quotations. Let me say it again real loud for ya.

THERE IS NO COMMON IN THERIANTHROPY. NEVER BE ASHAMED FOR HAVING A THERIOTYPE THAT IS CONSIDERED COMMON.

You’re an individual. Never be ashamed of being you. Respect yourself and the animal inside (that sounds mega edgy I know). You’re a beautiful, special, amazing critter. Treat yourself that way, because no matter what you or anyone else thinks, it’s true. You’re amazing. You’re therian.

And I’m so very proud of you.
