Floating Balloon Presents Without the Slingshot

i have discovered that if you happen to see a balloon floating toward your town over the lower sea area, you can stand at the top of the cliff overlooking the balloon's path and swing your bug net to hit and pop the balloon before it gains altitude. the present will land on the beach below !

i've done this twice tonight!
