The Heart:

Throughout the majority of his appearances from the 60s to the mid-or-late 2000s, Hank would usually serve this role to the Avengers, Defenders, X-Men, etc. in general or as a backup version of this whenever it was already filled; using his down-to-earth friendliness to keep everyone in check. Then he steadily began turning into a complete monster.

So, I picked this one for you because while I do enjoy plumbing the depths of X-Force Beast's depravity with you (my threads with you are some of my best writing, tbh), the original characterisation that birthed it is born from a completely false assumption. Ben Percy has gone on record saying that people who think that Beast was ever lovable have only read a small amount of comics, which . . . my guy.

I could go on for ages, tbh.

Like, there's a story to be told here. There's a story with real meta-textual weight to it about the fact that the heart of the X-Men, the moral, loving, kind-hearted, core of the X-Men, one of the members who best exemplifies their mission, has lost his way. But Percy can't grok that.

But you, dear friend, let me explore that in a delightfully twisted way, so I appreciate you immensely, and thank you for giving me the opportunity to show Hank with his dog. <3

that's the hank i love so much! He’s so wholesome😭 i still hate percy for making him bad! most of all for saying people who find him lovable only read a small amount of comics... like dude... really? there's a reason why every cartoon and movie portrayed him as the lovable and wholsome character that he is you've been the only one who portrayed him as the bad guy i literally can't name a single other media where he was only to some extent the way you try to make him from everything i saw of hank i was more than shocked and confused from finding out that he's the villain now from all characters he was the least i would have ever thought he turns evil hearing he's bad now made absolute no sense to me little rant is over
