Scuttle on down to Seattle for the SLUT
a professor told his class “consciousness doesnt exist. there are only neurons”
a student stood up “would you eat a raw egg and then drink oil and vinegar?”
“no” the professor replied.
“would you eat mayonnaise? perhaps on a sandwich or with some fries”
“of course” the professor replied, unsure of the purpose of this inquiry.
“mayonnaise is made from these very things and yet when combined, new properties arise.”
the professor was astounded. “what is your name?” he demanded
“shadow the hedgehog” said the student
I love that this applies to basically every service
not keeping an ad-free tier is bonkers imho, it was at a perfect price point where you could say, "yeah sure that's not too much money" and spring for it even if you didn't actually need it (i've got adblockers on desktop and mobile, i'm never going to see an ad regardless). hell. they could have let ad-free subscribers get grandfathered in at their older price and then announced the change in advance. people would have RUSHED to get the lower price point locked in. instead... this.
Wow. The patience, kindness and calm communication skills. Outstanding.

My least favorite things about anti- UBI discourse is always the techbros whining that "nobody is going to work anymore! People will just watch Netflix all day!" and I have 2 responses:
1) Who the fuck cares. Who the fuck cares what people do with their time! That's kind of the fucking point!
2) People aren't going to stop laboring. Housework (look, it's right there in the word!) will still need to be done. So will maintenance on our homes and personal spaces. Children will still need carers, as will the elderly and disabled. There are millions of examples of ~work~ that we do all the time, uncompensated, that won't suddenly stop because we aren't forced to sell our labor to provide corporation's profits.
I'm not surprised that what is traditionally women's work is invisible to these dipshits, but it never fails to anger me.
Anyway. Join the IWW.

Thinking about when CG was used exactly one time in the entirety of spongebobs pre-movie 3 season run
Like, they could’ve easily just had him instantaneously burst through the wall and get roughly the same joke across, but the fact the writers wanted him to slowly push through the wall like that SO BADLY that they went out of their way to implement the cg effect to do so is so fucking funny to me fndmmsmsms

Literally all time fav
There’s something so fundamentally sad about the fact that Connor McDavid has spent his entire life dealing with the same problem. He has always been the best, and has always been depended upon to do it himself.
“He played with nine-year-olds when he was six. That was kinda rough, if they were losing a game, they’d look down the bench like, “C’mon, Connor, go out and score for us.”
To be this tiny kid on the bench and to have all these bigger kids relying on you, telling you to go do it for them. The difference between a 6 year old and a 9 year old is huge.
“After games when he was much younger, McDavid was a mess, his mother said. He would cry and shake, anxious under his own pressure, feeling so indebted to produce for his teammates, his buddies.”
And he always felt the pressure. He never existed without it. He felt like it was his debt to himself and to his friends to be the best at hockey, to produce.
And he just was just in the Stanley Cup Final, he had 11 points in 7 games. He had 42 points, the only player other than Lemieux and Gretzky to ever have over 40 even with an abdominal injury. And it still wasn’t enough. He won the Conn Smythe but lost the cup. And his teammates are still looking down the bench telling him to score for them.
Am I jaded because this is cheaper than I would expect
So the cost estimates have come out for the new Long Distance Routes!
3 billion for Chicago-Miami
2 Billion for LA to Denver
Pheonix to St.Paul could reach 4 billion
Dallas to New York could hit 5 billion
