a few reminders because i’m tired and angry

fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism

adult women aren’t inherently creepy for being in fandom and having hobbies apart from raising babies and doing taxes

the vast majority of people pushing back against the worrying trend of instigating harassment over fictional characters and relationships aren’t incest supporters or pedophiles, actually

liking a m/f ship doesn’t make someone a dirty heterosexual invading your space

preferring gay ships doesn’t make you ‘’woke’’ and good

no one owes you a disclaimer that they are a good person who recognizes that their favorite fictional villain’s actions are evil and that they don’t condone those actions irl

liking a fictional villain is in no way comparable to advocating abuse/murder/genocide/etc and you’re a fucking idiot if you believe that

just because a woman is attracted to a fictional villain doesn’t mean she’s promoting toxic relationships or going to end up in a toxic relationship. assuming women can’t tell fiction and reality apart stinks of internalized misogyny

some rando’s a/b/o fanfics have none of the level of influence that popular tv shows and movies spreading propaganda have

no one owes you a detailed description of their traumas and mental health problems

abusive relationships are not the same as enemies to lovers ships

y’all need to chill the fuck out over people, relationships, actions and events that don’t actually exist and learn how to enjoy and discuss them like normal people

fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism

feel free to add more

Tobirama's hair was still damp.

Short locks, darkened by water, raked backwards out of his face; his cheekbones looked almost as sharp as his eyes. The wire mesh and the sleeveless gi were back on, only missing a happuri.

Tension in his limbs, poised, ready to fly.

"So we agree that this is more of that divisive sabotage idiocy," Madara said slowly, watching him, watching the eyes he'd seen hazy with reluctant pleasure and the pristine skin that should have worn his bruises. It burned at the back of his brain, being unable to smell himself on the omega anymore, being unable to smell him. No scents, no marks, no proof, and for a brief, endless moment Madara saw himself walking up to the man and catching a fistful of his hair to pull sideways and digging his teeth right there, in the tendon of his exposed throat. Leaving -- a bruise.

But Senju Tobirama did not belong to him.

no sex in this chapter! just lots and lots of squabbling. 10k of squabbling.

it took me almost a year to write this bitch. please love me. ;;

Going to post this tiny bit before I go. From a conversation with the lovely @6miray6 about centers. Courtesy and much thanks to @keanblade for the center idea like always:

——-

“You’re my center,” Madara said, staring at Tobirama. His eyes caught the way his center looked at him…with fear. Tobirama stood, utterly tense, his katana raised and pointed at Madara.

“What?”

“You—you’re my center,” Madara repeated again, numb, and unable to describe just what it meant. That when his eyes had met Tobirama’s, had looked into such gorgeous crimson, he was struck. Everything in him sang at having met the one that was for him and only him, but it was marred by the way Tobirama inched back from him. His center’s guard was up, and Madara could not mistake how Tobirama’s chakra skittered. At being faced with him.

And Madara was too aware of the way he loomed over Tobirama now, his own gunbai tilted down from his shock in meeting Tobirama. How they had only moments before been engaged in a fight, one that they had never engaged it before. No wonder why, even though Tobirama could not match him in strength, their dance was filled with a fluidity.

“I—” Madara wetted his lips. He reached forward with one hand, but Tobirama fled.

He dimly heard Hashirama’s voice calling for a retreat, and Madara was left cold as he watched Tobirama go.

Dawen Tells Tales Under the Lamplight

Izuna loved his clan and had a lot of pride in Uchiha traditions, but sometimes he thought that all the clans who celebrated in August – well past the monsoons – were on to something.

If possible, the rain came down harder. Safe under a roof (finally – although, obviously, as a shinobi Izuna didn’t have a problem getting wet, really!), Izuna scowled at the water. It fell like a solid sheet, so much that it sounded like the huge waterfall of the Naka two hours south and not much less pressure.

The water on the ground came up nearly to his knees.

It'll be our privilege to play host to @dawen, a fantastic author who writes angst and fluff with equal facility, but always with the same delicate touch and insightful eye.

Tales Under the Lamplight begins in 21 days….
