You had been the first to arrive at the cafe-- it was closest to your dorms by a long shot. You enter the cafe and are hit with a blast of warmth. The air carries the smell of freshly baked goods and newly ground coffee and you can hear the nervous chatter of various tables of college students. Finals season was getting to everyone.

You maneuver around through the cafe to find a spare table that will be able to seat you and your friends, apologizing when you bump your hip against a couple tables. You manage to find a cozy corner and set your bag down on one of your seats. Feeling a buzz in your pockets, you take out your phone and noticed one unread message.

You shoot Amber a quick response and look over at the line by the register. Deciding you have enough time, you grab your wallet out of the side pocket of your backpack and get in line. It doesn't take long, and soon you're waiting at the side of the bar, scrolling through your phone.

"Latte for Y/N!" You look up from your phone and smile at the barista,.

"That's me!" You walk up to the bar and grab the drink, feeling its warmth seep into your fingertips and spread. You thank the barista and turn to make your way back to your seat, excited to take a sip. Your joy is shortlived as you bump into the man that was behind you, the force causing your cup's lid to pop off and spill hot coffee all over you and the stranger. The liquid burns you instantly, forcing you to let out a pained whine.

"Watch where you're going!" You hiss, reaching over to grab some napkins nearby. You dab at your shirt to dry up the excess coffee and glare up at the man, but the glare is quick to dissolve when you realize who exactly you bumped into-- Diluc.

A fellow band member and classmate. The owner of Dawn Winery and in turn, Dawn Cafe. The star Trumpet player, a shoo-in for Drum Major next year, and a man of lots of influence. You didn't have any real opinion of him-- he was cordial when he interacted with you and you assumed Kaeya's rambles about him were just brothers being brothers. Plus, his behavior reminded you of someone you'd like to never interact with again. You doubt he even really knew you, and now you just bumped into him, spilling hot coffee on yourself and him, and told him to watch where he's going.

"You should pay more attention to your surroundings," he bites back, his voice even but harsh. His gaze on you is filled with frustration and you'd rather be anywhere but the cafe in this very moment. He takes some napkins for himself as well and turns on his heel. The barista that handed your drink watched between you two frowning, clutching what you can only assume was Diluc's drink.

"Are you okay?" She asks, and you throw her a smile.

"I'll be fine. I have a change of clothes. Where's the bathroom?" She points in its direction and you thank her, rushing over to your bag. As you make your way toward the bathroom, you feel a sense of dread wash over you.

the implications of hiccup naming him toothless…… he’s “toothless” literally when he’s friendly and curious and playful like how he is around hiccup, how hiccup sees him, and his teeth only come out when he’s violent and defensive and scary which is how berk sees him…. toothless really is NAMED for the fact of their friendship and the fact that hiccup saw him for the best in him instead of the worst which is also exactly what toothless saw in hiccup.
