technoblade was an inspiration to so so many. he was proof that you can be funny and kind, passionate and genuine. he made an everlasting impact on not just the mcyt community but the internet as a whole. the loss here is immeasurable and i hope that god does hesitate, just a little.

I finally feel like i said goodbye to Techno in my way. I still want to draw Techno as much as I have ideas I love this man too much to stop, technoblade never dies!

This was commented and hearted on a SMP earth awhile ago, it’s a quote about Alexander the Great I believe. Before anyone knew Alexander was his real name. It seems strangely poetic and sweet now. I hope he got a good laugh out of this

Technoblade leaves the Dream SMP server in the middle of the night.

He doesn’t take anything with him. No armor, no weapons, nothing. He doesn’t even take his dogs or Steve. Only Carl, the stable emptied by the first signs of dawn.

Instead, he leaves notes.

One for Ranboo, one for Niki. One for Wilbur, one for Tommy.

He leaves one for Phil too, slightly different than the rest. There’s another line at the bottom, a set of coordinates.

(“To the gates of hell,” Phil had said.

“What about just anywhere but here?” Techno had answered.)

There’s another server. A smaller one, with more sunshine and mob-proofed fences. Where Techno does not ever have to pick up a weapon. Where Techno does not have to continue fighting.

Where there is no need for him to do anything but tend to his farms and sit outside to read, feed Carl carrots and nap as much as he wants. Where the distant crackle of a portal won’t mean anything except the welcomed visit of an old friend.

Where he can rest easy.

Because the war is over.

And dust settles on pain. And regrets become worn with age. And memories will bring strength more than they will sting.

(Perhaps, they will visit. Perhaps, Phil will come along one day and bring with him the people Techno loved and who loved Techno and who Techno hurt and who hurt Techno.

Perhaps they will find something worth holding onto in the ruins dug between them, that will grow flowers again.)

And on this new server, Technoblade is happy.

I have seen some people saying that they think people should stop, or will stop, creating art and stories about Technoblade because he died, and I am glad that is not the majority idea, but I have a story I wanted to tell because of this to explain where my philosophy on this comes from. A story about, surprisingly, Joe hills and a much younger Rose.

Once, about two years ago I was writing my first fanfiction and I asked Joe if he had anything to say to the Hermitcraft fanfiction writers. I think that I would not ask such a thing now, the line between what area of fan content and thoughts should be shared with the content creators is a blurred and moving line and I know for certain that that question sits on the blur, but I am nonetheless glad for the answer Joe gave me.

I don’t remember what he said exactly, and I would never be able to phrase it as well as Joe phrased it, but in summary his response, mixed with how I internalized, was basically this: The hermits are essentially folk heroes, that the fact we live in a time where folk heroes can be talked to is remarkable, but that does not change this fact: folk heroes have not control over the stories people tell about them.

In conclusion, Technoblade is a folk hero, not was, is. The man who inspired the stories is gone, but the stories will not change, nor should they. People will continue to tell stories about the same hero, whether or not he is alive because the stories are about folk heroes and folk heroes live till they are forgotten.

don’t stop making fanworks for techno, don’t stop doing what you love and keeping his memory alive. he would have wanted you to finish that piece of art, to write that fanfic, to wear that cosplay, to sing that song — and to share it with the world. if there was one thing we know techno absolutely loved, it was the creations of his fans who loved him so dearly.

so keep creating. and keep creating for years to come. because to us, he will never truly die — we will carry his memory with us and share it with the world.

I say this with my whole heart; it is an honour to carry on your legacy alongside millions of lives you've changed for the better.

There is something so deeply cathartic about being one amongst nearly 50,000 people watching Phil build a memorial for Techno in his Hardcore world. Something about shared grief. Something about humanity. Something about love and friendship and the legacy it leaves behind.

After taking a moment to process the news, it feels sad but a lot of things Namjoon said make sense, they make so much sense.

Something that stuck to me was how he said that after dynamite he felt like his control was slipping, how as an individual he wanted to say so many things but as group he didn't have anything left to say.

And a lot of the boys saying how they became music producing machines, constantly working, pushing themselves to create, create and create.

It must have been exhausting...

I truly believe that the decision to break away from this rhythm, to make the decision to walk away from a dynamic that was draining them only for the purpose of producing and specially at this moment when they are so big... it is so brave, and I am amazed at their strength, their willingness to recognize that they need this break and their honesty in how they addressed the issue.

We Stan honest kings who put themselves, their mental health and their growth before anything and anyone.

And tho it is sad and nobody knows what will happen in the future it will still be amazing to watch them grow in their solo careers 💜💜

it is more than okay to stop running. it’s pointless to keep running without knowing what direction you’re going. it’s more than okay to feel upset and sad over this hiatus. it’s also okay to indulge and rejoice in their individual works they’re doing for their growth as individuals, without feeling the guilt. it’s okay to feel guilty over being emotional. although what’s happening involves us, it’s beyond us. this is not about you not getting your preferred performance from their album. it’s not about you not receiving group content on a regular basis. what’s this hiatus about is them, their sanity, their desires, their growth. it’s okay to feel and let yourself wallow throughout the hiatus, but please do not be selfish. do not sabotage their individual growth because you prefer their collectiveness. bts has been running for more than ten years, and it’s more than okay to pause. you are entitled to feel, but you are not entitled to blame. they will come back, and there is no greater comfort than knowing that. this is merely the end of the first chapter and the start of their second, the best is yet to come. this is beyond you; this is about them. for the meantime, pour your heart on whatever and whoever’s home to you. do what’s fit to feel, but do not blame. there’s schedules, content, a whole plethora of growth to look forward to. tomorrow will be better than today. 🤍
