Whumpee who was never actually taken, was never actually harmed. They're perfectly safe and sound, and always have been. The police luckily found Whumper and all their horrific plans before it could be carried out, and arrested them.

But when Whumpee has to hear in court, on the news and all the gossip about what Whumper planned to do to them. When Whumpee hears about all the restraints, and the tools and the lockup Whumper had rented to hold Whumpee captive in. Whumpee is traumatised over something that essentially never happened.

Their every thought is consumed about what would have happened to them, had they been too late to put a stop to it. They can't sleep, because images of their own non-existant torture flashes in their mind. They sob themselves sick at the thought of being locked away from everyone they've ever loved. And they feel silly for it. Because after all, it never happened.
