I Got A Laptop With Windows 11 For An IT Course So I Can Get Certified, And Doing The First Time Device

I got a laptop with Windows 11 for an IT course so I can get certified, and doing the first time device set-up for it made me want to commit unspeakable violence

Windows 11 should not exist, no one should use it for any reason, it puts ads in the file explorer and has made it so file searches are also web searches and this cannot be turned off except through registry editing. Whoever is responsible for those decisions should be killed, full stop.

Switch to linux, it's free and it's good.

fun fact: Boston Museum of Science calls their evening lecture series “SubSpace”, which would be a totally innocuous math term except for the fact that, to make sure you know these lectures are higher-level and not aimed at their usual audience (kids), they chose to subtitle it “SubSpace: Adult Experiences”

if you've never engaged with a creative art on a regular basis you need to understand that it requires concerted effort to get into "the groove" to make something and every second that it takes to get into that groove causes physical pain, but the only thing worse than doing it is not doing it.

what if people born on leapdays actually aged 25% of the usual rate that people age so that the number of times they've experienced their birthday on february 29th is the age they're analogous to for everyone else. imagine being a parent to a child like that, you'd spend sixteen years rearing a newborn to the equivalent of a normal four-year old, wouldn't that be harrowing? now imagine that these people also have long pointy ears
