kris grew up in a town where half of the occupants are covered in fur, and the other covered in scales right? They also seem to have been raised their whole life by monsters.

they probably don’t know they can make farts with their armpit and hands which is a tragedy because i bet they would love to know they have that kinda power.

heck a good portion of the town does not have hands like kris they probably doesn’t know how to whistle, but not just because they have trouble with it just genuinely don’t have the reference for it 

when their teeth started falling out they probably freaked out by it, if they had the reference to find it something worth freaking out about.

God help kris if that one book toreil used as reference didn’t mention anything about babies teething  as their teeth grew in, absolute nightmare scenario for everyone involved.

is the doctor in town licensed to practice medicine on humans? is kris in danger if they have any health issues one day?

did they get properly tossed around as a kid? I know this sounds strange but the reason your parents would like toss you up in the air and catch you or swing you between them or toss you at soft furniture or bounced you as a baby? yeah turns out its important for a kids development to gentle rattle them so their brain can learn how to deal with being put off balance better. 

We know kris got the biggest swinging bear hugs asgore could givem as a kiddo but how much about this is in a human raising book? what if she dismissed it as some type of cruel child rearing practice humans use when its perfectly fine? like how id be horrified out of context at the idea of monsters sending magic bullet  birthday cards because that sounds dangerous to me.

is a human actually able to survive on monster food and how much does a human actually need to eat because im sorry one sugary pie slice at night even if monster food didnt just disappear in your mouth and actually went down your throat isnt, healthy for a  teenager, or child, or adult.

(stealing and devouring an entire pie after not getting to eat any before bed, this being a fairly common occurrence from toreil joking about having to lock the oven again, and the fact kris sleeps through the beginning of class consistently does not help me think they are not suffering from unintentional malnourishment, even taking into account their recent escapades. Kris stomach growling loud enough for others to hear it when ralsei offers to bake them a cake later does not help disprove my hypothesis either)

I just, theres things that humans dont think to write down in parenting books for humans, and can give wildly different information depending on the source, biology ad phycology books can suffer the same issue, and history has revealed that if something is common knowledge at the time, like how to use a toilet, its not going to be written down often if at all.

There is a reason orphanages and hospitals have jobs of people to rock babies or read storys or play with or teach or mae sure their hugged. One of my personal fondest memories is being curled up snuggling with my mom in a recliner when i was very little, falling asleep to the sound of her pace maker, of her heartbeat.

was kris ever read to sleep as a child? sang to sleep? Im sure some experiences they got, singing off key in choir of other kids, dancing freely without fear to their favorite songs, clumsy and funny as kids do with their parents laughing and awkwardly dancing along. running through mud puddles and throwing them at friends and siblings, being taught not to do that. finding cool rocks  or snailshells or pieces of garbage that were shiny and wanting to keep them. 

But then we see kris’s room and it.

 everything there- or everything it doesn’t have- makes me worry for them. 

I mean yes currently kris’s biggest problem is us the player and whatever’s driven them to make dark portals, along with worrying about that knight if they arent the knight themselves. 

Maybe they made sure you couldnt ruin their stuff before you got there, honestly if we found out thats the case or were given a hint by someone talking about it that would make me feel better.

Idk, it just feels like there are many references tori has available to her on raising humans and its having an effect. 

is it just me, or does the idea of queen’s rooms of your personalized searches just seem. really creepy?

yeah- maybe it’s just because it’s such a staunchly dystopian concept, but can we notice that these are public computers? even in broad daylight, noelle is googling some pretty disturbing stuff. not just creepypastas and dumb horror things, but noelle’s recurring searches about “the last month of the year” (december) fill up a bookshelf. assuming that the theme of Queen/The Internet taking things too literally continues, Noelle could possibly have been doing research on December Holiday- not “the holiday in december.”

If that’s true, Noelle could possibly be doing her own investigation into what happened to Dess- I feel like Noelle wouldn’t reference her so vaguely unless she truly didn’t know where Dess was. It would make sense- Noelle’s family is clearly wealthy and Noelle is a clear introvert, why wouldn’t she do something like that at home? Noelle also clearly has morbid fascinations with mystery and horror- she resolves to find out what happened to Kris in the Snowgrave route with little consideration for her safety, even then just being terrified for her life when Kris approached her.

If Noelle is indeed googling her sister’s name so frequently, it lends massive credence to the “Dess is missing” theory.

I don't think that Kris made the dark fountain or is the Knight because the dark world was already there before them and Susie even went in the closet,Kris also seemed scared to even go in the closet which is strange if they made the dark fountain in there

I also think that it is a little bit far fetched to think that Kris would even try to kill/harm Susie.

And what happened in snowgrave was the player's doing not Kris'

Yea it is weird that Kris has a knife on them but I don't think they would try to kill someone willingly.

So at the end of chapter 2 we get confirmation that Kris is the knight, and opens portals with their blade (their knife), right? We get confirmation that at the end of chapter one when Kris tears the player out of their body, they go and make the fountain in the library, the very one that shows up in chapter 2, also.

If Kris is the one making the portals, ones that immediately suck the surrounding people into them, why didn't we immediately get sucked into the portal in the closet in the first chapter?

Well, there's three answers.

One, Toby just wanted to add suspense, and I'm looking far too into this after playing the snowgrave route and having pixelated ice-murder on my brain.

Two, Kris hadn't made the portal yet, and made it as they were in the closet with Susie, out on a whim and not knowing they were able to do so,

And three, Kris had their knife in the closet with them because they were going to harm or even kill Susie. I know this sounds far fetched but when you think about it, Susie was bullying and threatening to kill Kris, who we already know is a morally grey character. Say Kris DIDN'T make the portal before hand, why would they have their knife on them? Why would they willingly go into a room ALONE with Susie who just threatened their life?

Why would they open a dark fountain right in their livingroom while she was sleeping, knowing it'd end the world?

[1/5] I’ve noticed some parallels between Spamton and Mike and what could possibly be Kris’s relationship with Asriel. Spamton seems to be a projection of Kris’s fears--specifically things that have already happened.

The first thing I want to point out is that when you talk to the townspeople in the postgame during Chapter 1, you quickly learn that Asriel is very popular and Kris isn't at all. However, the NPC conversation that stands out the most to me is the one with Catty's dad.

The phrase "big shot" is used a lot in relation to Spamton. I don't think this is just a coincidence or a throwaway line. Instead, I think it's possible that due to Asriel's popularity, people would often pretend to be Kris's friend to try to get Asriel to like them. In doing this, Kris may have had business-type relationships with people who were trying to use them to get Asriel's attention. So if we replace Spamton's mentions of sales with Kris's want for genuine connection and friendship, we gain an entirely different perspective on who Spamton is and how he's related to Kris.

Everyone has already been talking about the parallel between Spamton being a puppet and Kris being controlled by the player. However the less talked about parallel is that both characters struggle with perceived abandonment. Spamton, of course, was abandoned by Mike, and then everything went to shit. Similarly, Kris may have thought they had friends until Asriel went to college. When he was no longer around to impress, the others stopped pretending to care about Kris. Spamton living in a literal dumpster could also be representative of Kris's self esteem.

In Spamton NEO's battle theme, garbled vocals can be heard. There are a few videos about what the vocals are, but I think this one is closest:

We hear Spamton trying to reach out to Mike in vain. I believe this is a direct parallel to Kris being unable to reach Asriel. However, unlike Mike, I don't believe Asriel is malicious. Maybe Kris wanted to make Mike out to be the bad guy because they can't bring themself to feel that way about Asriel.

Another point from this fight is this line:

This line sticks out to me because due to their parents' divorce and their brother going off to college, their home is pretty broken and it's very possible Kris is not taking this well. But how would Spamton know about any of that? I don't think he would unless he was some form of projection from Kris. At the end of this fight, we see a few more interesting lines.

The next few lines are especially intriguing.

Ok so I was watching someone play through the initial encounter with Spamton and I noticed something interesting

When Spamton jumps out of the dumpster, Kris takes a few steps backwards, and they also jump back a bit when he runs over to hit the side of the dumpster. Ok, understandable reaction from Kris.

But later he walks up really close to them to start talking about his deal, and they don’t even flinch. And it’s not like he’s being any less unsettling here, he’s essentially cornering them in a dark alley peddling some unknown deal before proceeding to get less than a foot away from them

The part that struck me as especially interesting is in the lines directly after, where he steps back to his original distance from Kris and starts telling them how to get [[Hyperlink Blocked]]. He says he needs Kris’ [[HeartShapedObject]] (their soul) and AS SOON as he says that and starts to take a step towards them again, Kris immediately backs up even though he isn’t that close at all to them anymore compared to where he was before when they weren’t moving. 

I might be misremembering something, but I think he’s one of the few characters in the game to acknowledge Kris’ soul, and I don’t think very many enemies mention Kris’ soul either, up to this point it’s mainly been Ralsei talking about it. I’m not even sure if Jevil says anything about it. There’s something about this detail that really creeps me out, and I think Kris picks up on this fact too and is equally unsettled by it, and that’s why they step backwards when he says that line.
