This isnt the mcu, where we’re so afraid the audience will laugh at us or call us corny that we make fun of ourselves non stop, oh no. kingdom hearts completely commits to its premise of fusing the emotional power of disney style magic and optimism with final fantasy style drama and angst. And it works because they are unashamed and sincere. Thats why its so successful despite seeming ridiculous from the outside.
