Basically in the dream I was watching some guy read a letter from James to Mary about her taking his throne (digital) but when he finished the letter and scrolled down it said "Chapter 3" so I assumed this was actually a book Bowen style n all that but then it suddenly skipped to the title page and it was titled "James' Journals" and it said these were things he actually wrote down like Samuel Pepys and then this made me wonder if that 'letter' to Mary was actually sent or just James writing to himself to cope 😭😭

and it was SO REALISTIC like I CAN SEE JAMES DOING THAT

I recently got Jean Plaidy's The Royal Sisters and my GOD JUST LIKE IN THE FIRST CHURCHILLS WILLIAM IS COLD AF TO MARY BUT ONCE SHE DIES HE IS OVERCOME WITH GRIEFFFFFFFFF MNMGNGMGNMFMFGSH

Okay so Plaidy actually wrote his grief pretty well imo She didn't display William's emotions through dialogue and his fainting like Bowen did (which was really powerful don't get me wrong) but she writes of how William realizes what he has lost in Mary and how he was so, so stupid rejecting all her affection. Affection he will never see again because she was one of the few people who loved actually loved him genuinely and not just for his battlefield successes, which were easily overshadowed by his appearance, and he had lost some battles recently so her genuine love would've meant the world to him.

Like idk how else to explain this it just hit hard?? like i got watery eyes

and yes Plaidy made him cry and shut himself away and yes the people were shocked because 'WAIT ISNT HE SUPPOSED TO BE REALLY COLD AND INDIFFERENT TO HIS WIFE????'

so girlie could use some help there but Plaidy got there in the end
