BREAKING NEWS: far-left nation the center and far-right hate is doing a lot better than other countries. BuT AT WHat CosT?!

I've been making a sci-fi universe similar to 40k but less grim dark in comparison. This is one of the first characters I think I really fleshed out with backstory and concept.

Hairstyle: messy front with ponytail and 5 o'clock shadow.

Background: Cassius is the younger twin of the Canid Imperial Family in the 28th century. With a devil-may-care attitude and disdain of the b1ckering nobility, Cassius prefers to spend his days outside the stuffy confines of the Imperial Palace with the presence of commoners. It's here in the bustling streets of the Imperial Capital of Canis Prime that makes Cassius feel at home.

It was here that Cassius found himself and his people. He never knew his mom, who had died when she brought him into the world, and strived to know all about her. Twist: Both he and his older brother Maximus are half daemonic (only their dad knows about this secret). Their dad, Lucius, couldn't have kids. Because of this, he turned to the 9 gods of ruin (think the chaos gods from warhammer) to give him heirs.

The gods eagerly accepted this opportunity and told him to give them suitable DNA to sculpt into the perfect vessels. The DNA offered was that of an Ancient Canid Emperor and Imperium founder named Nippotus III. The ruinous deities were appalled at first by the offering of their greatest foe but seized the moment to sculpt these unborn legends into their liking.

Using the DNA of the ancient emperor and the vessel of a punished succubus, Cassius and Maximus were born two years apart in the grand halls of the Imperial Palace.

Cassius grew up knowing something was different between him and everyone else, but never could put his finger on it. That was until he was at a fraternity party with his friend Galen. They had crashed the party to celebrate before they went off to enlist in the Imperial Army.

They had celebrated too hard, with the two sharing a kiss and spending an intimate night in one of the bedrooms at the frat party. It was this night that awakened Cassius' realization that he's not entirely straight, and this awakening changed the rest of his life.

Time skip to now, and Cassius is a commissar legatus of the 157th Mixed Shock Legion, nicknamed the dreadnoughts. He leads the greatest band of shock troopers clad in Crimson Armour, a soft nod to his hair color and fiery personality. His 2nd in Command is Elaria Stokas, a felinid Calico who attended the same Officers Academy despite not being royalty.

Weapons:

- Crimson Angel: a laser revolver that holds magazines worth 20 shots. A button on his trigger guard allows him to overcharge the mag into firing one devastating beam that destroys the mag in the process.

- Daemon Splitter: a sword made with the finest high quality scrap metal from the slums of the Imperial Capital. The hilt is a motorcycle handle that when twisted, heats the blade. When heated, the sword melts through Armour with deadly precision and can cauterize wounds if twisted for a third time.

- Divine Judgement: When Cassius was born, he was born with a defect that left him with only one functioning hand on his right as the left was just a stub at where the elbow is located. To treat this, a robotic prosthetic was grafted to expand his capabilities. Unknown to everyone except Cassius and the 157th, his arm summons a phantom claw using his daemonic energy that acts like Nero's devil bringer in DMC 4 (however they all think it's divine energy, hence it being called Divine Judgement).
