ATTENTION TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY!!
for an independent project i am making a Protect Trans Youth zine that will include statistics about transgender youth's experience (w/bullying/sexual assault/prejudice/discrimination/etc), as well as an anonymous survey from the lgbtqia youth group I attend weekly.
some other things I plan on including - (I have currently lost my planning notebook, so I may continue to update this post for a bit)
1.) transgender/genderqueer figures throughout history, including: - in mythology/folklore - throughout the centuries
2.) how many homicides/attempted homicides against trans people (likely in the past year)
3.) how to support trans youth/the trans community around you.
4.) how communities in the past, before colonization/the spread of western culture.
if anyone has anything that they would like for me to talk about, any figures in mythology, communities and their gender systems/lack of systems, statistics, stories from personal experiences, anything at all, then please share in the comments.
