after calum finds out you’re pregnant i feel like he would always find a way to keep his hands on your baby bump. he may not even realize that he’s doing it half the time but it’s become a natural reflex whenever you’re close to him. when you’re snuggled up against him at night, he places his hand on your stomach and rubs his thumb back and forth while he softly hums gentle melodies to the both of you.. whenever you’re driving somewhere together, his hand rests on your upper thigh but occasionally he will subconsciously lift his fingers up to rub against the side of your swollen belly and as you look over at him you see him smiling to himself because it’s still so amazing to him that he created a new life with you… even randomly during the middle of the day when you’re both lounging around the house, he would make it a point to be wherever you are. if you’re sitting across the room from him, he would make his way over to the couch and crawl behind you, pulling you to settle against his chest, his hands automatically wrapping around your bump as if it were a magnetic force pulling him in… and you always knew calum was protective of you when you were out in public but it reached a whole new level when you were pregnant. he would pull you closely in to his side and his arm would wrap around you so that he could guard your bump incase anyone should get too close for his comfort. his eyes would carefully scan through crowds everywhere you went and if someone gave him even the slightest bad vibe, he would avoid them at all costs while simultaneously trying to bring you closer to him. he would probably hire another body guard for you as well.. he could hire the whole national guard to protect you and it still probably wouldn’t feel like enough to keep the both of you safe.

110. daddy luke alone with baby girl hemmings for the first time

It’d be a few weeks after you’ve given birth and you finally think you’re ready to go back to work and so you’re freaking out the minute you’re about to leave and Luke’s just standing there with little baby girl hemmings in his arms slightly bouncing back and forth while she plays with his hair, assuring you it’ll be fine and that he could handle it so you’d sigh and kiss them both on the cheek leaving bc you were already late on your first day back and that’d make little baby girl hemmings giggle and watch as her momma left but the minute the door closes she’d frown and start to cry wondering where she went and when the door didn’t open again she’d start bawling and Luke would just freak the fuck out and try to console her like ‘no no no shh she’s gonna be back in a few hours come on don’t cry please’ but she’d keep wailing and he’d be so confused and just do the only thing he could think of which is to quietly sing to her and eventually she’d notice and quiet down just sniffling while she stared mesmerized while he worked his magic and he’d smile triumphantly and that’d make her giggle which would make him giggle too cause yes he could handle it

We’re kids and we’re supposed to be excited about everything - and then all of a sudden we’re supposed to be unfazed and so cool that nothing really moves us to jump up and down like when we were five. I just reject that idea. I’m not bored by all these cool things that I get to go do. I’m not bored by any of it, so why would I act that way?

For British women have proven themselves in this war. They have stuck to their posts near burning ammunition dumps, delivered messages afoot after their motorcycles have been blasted from under them. They have pulled aviators from burning planes. They have died at the gun posts and as they fell another girl has stepped directly into the position and “carried on.” There is not a single record in this war of any British woman in uniformed service quitting her post or failing in her duty under fire.

Now you understand why British soldiers respect the women in uniform. They have won the right to the utmost respect. When you see a girl in khaki or air-force blue with a bit of ribbon on her tunic - remember she didn’t get it for knitting more socks than anyone else in Ipswich.

No wonder she decks him. And no wonder his boss believes he deserves it.
