I've noticed jkkers talking about Tae and Taekook so much despite nothing happening. They are definitely insecure. And they will have the silliest takes like Taekook can't be together because they have no sexual tension. First of all are you blind because there has been so many blatant moments of them being clearly attracted to eachother and secondly have they ever met a gay couple in real life because I'm pretty sure queer couples have normal relationships too that aren't just nonstop flirting and being horny for eachother 24/7.
You can call me delusional but as someone who is happily married, Taekook scream couple vibes to me, not because of grand gestures but the simple consistent things. It's the way Jungkook is considerate of Tae not being able to eat spicy food and cutting Tae's meat up into small pieces because he likes it that way. It's Jungkook saying he wants to be seen as cool and Tae always making a point to refer to him or what he does as cool, while Jungkook thinks Tae is the most handsome man he's ever seen and constantly compliments he's natural beauty. It's Tae thinking Jungkook has the best voice in Korea despite also being a singer, and Jungkook singing romantic songs for him. It's them having different taste in music yet having a shared playlist and sharing their music with eachother first. It's them having shared hobbies together that everyone knows is their thing like gaming, karaoke and film/photography. It's spending time together before and after work trips out of the country and knowing eachothers tastes, habits and schedules. I don't mind the fact we don't get as much Taekook content because it's so clear to me that whatever they share is something really special and is a relationship that is for them, that they try to keep separate from their jobs and I respect that.

Tae’s hairstylist, Mujin, is interviewed for Harper’s Bazaar Korea. He talks with the magazine about Tae’s beautiful blue hair, noting the process to achieve this ethereal look. He mentions the story and concept of the pictorial were planned in advance, with the male, coming of age, romantic drama “Call Me By Your Name” (CMBYN) being an inspiration.
Article snippet:
🗣️: In this <Bazaar> pictorial, V's unique transformation of blue hair drew attention. Why did you choose this color?
Mujin: After checking the overall story, design, and concept of the pictorial planned by 'Bazaar' in advance, the mise-en-scène of “Call Me by Your Name.”
Mujin also references the LGBTQ+ movie “Blue is the Warmest Color,” a female coming of age movie similar to CMBYN, and we can discern this because he says “warmest” then ‘blue color’ is placed in quotations, indicating he’s citing material that inspired their pictorial. His exact words are, “The warmest ‘blue color’ with a European sensibility rather than a specially decorated feel.” A Google search of “warmest blue color” will showcase the movie, and protagonist Emma’s blue hair color.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Tae has mentioned his fondness for the movie CMBYN. On May 31, 2019, on the heels of pride month, he uploaded to the BTS Twitter page a snippet of him playing the movie’s OST on the piano.
On June 9, 2019, he recommended the movie to Hobi during a live.

On June 9, 2020 (during pride month), Tae read Elio’s father’s impactful speech on a live:

And as an aside, I always found it interesting and noteworthy that the very next day, after reading Elio’s father’s monologue about living life on your terms and no one else’s, Tae responded to a fan on Weverse by saying, “I want to be happy too🥺”

And on September 4, 2023, an article was posted on Weverse. Within the contents of the article, “Rainy Days”, a song from Tae’s solo debut album “Layover”, is noted to have followed the “tomato girl summer” trend, which was inspired by movies such as “Call Me By Your Name.”

Gonna share my thoughts about the negative take from that H*BE stylist about LWA because I need to put them somewhere, so forgive me for this post. For context, the stylist said that the MV is using disabilities and those who face discrimination as inspirational material and that they’re “romanticizing disabilities”, and while I can genuinely understand what they were trying to advocate for, their take also completely ignores massive elements of the MV as a whole, whilst also making grand assumptions about the artists (Tae and IU) that they cannot possibly know.
Listen, every individual has the right to feel how they feel about any single piece of content, and they are allowed to freely talk about it, but where it falls apart is sharing those points while also making huge assumptions about the artists involved. Claiming that IU and Tae are rich cishets with no disabilities(implying that they are privileged and not discriminated against) is such a WILD assumption to make about things that this person couldn’t know about them (let’s not forget that IU does actually have a hearing impairment).
And while I do think that there should definitely be conversations about who should be able to tell what stories or portray what character, there has to be some room for fluidity, because the alternative is forcing people to reveal everything single thing about themselves in order to prove their credentials. Which is completely unreasonable to expect, and not to mention, in some circumstances, it could literally be unsafe.
Not only that, but their critique sort of implies that the MV portrayed that having disabilities = being a victim, but that isn’t what I personally got from the MV. Their characters literally fight until the very end, in their blind and deaf/mute states, and are never actually shown as weak. And it’s just another assumption that the “love filter” takes away their disabilities, when in reality, IU still uses sign language even when Tae is looking at her through the camcorder – what is shown is a world where they don’t have their injuries anymore (injuries that were sustained in this dystopian world) and their lives are more than just fear and running. The concept of “love wins all” is that they made it to the very end of the world together and are ultimately taken out by the shittiness of this world that they’re living in – not by their disabilities.
The stylist also goes on to imply that the ambiguity of the MV is an issue because they end up wearing traditional hetero outfits, and if it were meant to mean something to the queer community, they wouldn’t have included that. Which makes no sense because that’s the beauty of art – it’s meant to be interpreted however the viewer sees it, and so many people in the queer community did actually take comfort in the symbolism.
To be honest, I can’t help but question the motive of their rant, because from where I’m standing, this person works for a billion dollar company that literally capitalizes on using the queer community for good sales (fanservice, etc)(mind you, this is only one of H*BE’s many offenses) so their issues with this metaphorical MV seem to be a bit selective (aka taking issue with things that don’t affect their livelihood). Also gonna add that they literally have posts supporting Zionists (who raised money specifically for the IDF), so it's really seeming like selective activism atp.
Also, Tae and IU have both consistently shown that they are massive advocates of inclusivity and equality, so to be accused of exploiting minorities and their struggles is actually so upsetting. People can label it whatever they want, but IU’s decision to change the title of the song was not about “saving face”, it was showing empathy for a minority when she learned that they were bothered by the original title.
Anyway, sorry for this long-winded post. There’s never a day of peace and I am siiiiick of it.
