notes: i lied here’s another hurt/comfort drabble, i will most likely end up writing another one before i finish this oneshot but i swear i’m trying

When Junhui had offered to sleep on the couch tonight amidst a fight neither of you even knew who started, he had not expected for you to stop him. In his mind, he thought what he was doing was best for you: giving you the time and space to gather your thoughts and feelings so that you both can talk about it in the morning with a clearer mind, but somewhere along the lines he must’ve misjudged. 

“Don’t.” There’s a fragile quality to your voice that Jun picks up on. It shocks him. The sudden switch from your venom laced words only minutes prior to the sudden shakiness of your voice is surprising, but it also brought a sense of comfort because it meant at the very least, you didn’t hate him. Not even after all the harsh words you’ve thrown at each other. 

His back remained facing you for a moment, only turning around when he heard a sigh escape your lips and he turned to see you standing by the bed, eyes casted downwards to the ground to avoid his own.

“Come to bed.” It almost sounds like a plea. Come to bed, tell me that we’re still fine, come back to me, I’m sorry. He hears it.

Going to turn off the lights, he meets you under the covers and hesitates at your back still turned towards him. A beat passes and he decides to test the waters by tentatively draping an arm across your waist and watching your reaction closely. He felt his heart ache when you stiffened at the initial touch—he hopes it was just due to shock—and while you relaxed immediately after, it still didn’t completely ease the feeling. 

Too deep in his thoughts, he doesn’t seem to realize that you’re suddenly in his arms—let alone the fact that you’ve moved closer to him—until you’ve buried your face in his chest and his arms instinctively wrap around your figure, pulling you closer to him before he even realizes. 

Oh. 

He freezes, wondering if he’s somehow overstepped despite the fact that it was you who made the initial move. He’s sure you sense it but silence is the only thing that seems to follow, the two of you scattering to collect your thoughts as you lay in his arms. His heart is beating so fast, and loud. Is it not deafening to you? 

“I’m sorry.” He hears, or rather, feels, you mumble against his chest and Jun can’t help but let out a shaky laugh as relief washes over him. 

He pulls you impossibly tighter to him and he almost expects you to scold him for nearly suffocating you but he doesn’t give you the chance as he presses a kiss into your hair. It lingers for a while, letting all the words and affection he’s unable to say at the moment be spoken through the simple action before finally pulling away.

“I’m sorry too,” He starts, readjusting his arms so that your neck doesn’t get cramped due to the angle. “Let’s talk about it in the morning hm? I’ll get up early and make us breakfast then we can talk.”

A beat passes before you finally respond. “Don’t.” Just stay in bed with me. Talk to me whilst in each other’s arms, don’t let me go.

This time, he understands and nods before pressing another kiss to your head.

as for my writing itself, i typically write using gender-neutral!reader but am open to writing fem!reader (and possibly trying my hand at male!reader). i don’t think i will be writing smut in any of my works (allusions and implications to such at most) so unless specifically mentioned otherwise, please refrain from sending in any requests with smut. additionally, i will not be writing anything that isn’t a reader-insert.

i’m fairly open to writing just about anything though i tend to enjoy writing angst a bit more but feel free to request other genres, au’s or even other forms of fanfiction (such as social media au’s)!

like any other writer, i reserve the right to delete any requests that i just simply do not like for whatever reason. please understand that if my requests are open and you send in one, it is not guaranteed i will write it. i tend to take my time and bounce between works so progress will be slow and scattered but if you’re curious about a wip, feel free to send me an ask!

you’re painfully aware that all the tossing and turning you’re doing is getting you nowhere. but no matter what position you try, the fact remains — you can’t sleep.

jun, on the other hand, is resting peacefully on the other side of the bed.

so when the clock hits 3:23 in the morning, you give up; all the shifting under the sheets is getting you nowhere, and you really don’t want to wake jun up. so you slide carefully out of the bed and pad to the kitchen, squinting against the bright light.

it’s just as you’ve given up on the kitchen and are making yourself comfortable in the living room that your boyfriend appears in the doorway, rubbing his eyes sleepily. it takes him all of a few seconds to spot you on the couch and wrap himself around you, mumbling tiredly into your ear. “you left me.”

you lean your head against him. “i’m sorry. did i wake you when i got up?”

jun shakes his head from where he’s nuzzled into your neck. “no. the bed was cold without you.” he tightens his arms around your waist for emphasis, before questioning you sleepily. “what’s wrong? can’t sleep?”

“yeah,” you confess, turning so you can burrow into his chest and feel his heartbeat steady against your cheek. “i just feel… off. don’t know why.”

jun kisses your temple now, smoothing your hair. “that’s okay,” he murmurs. “i’ll hold you.”

“here? on the couch?”

“here. there. wherever you want.” he tucks you closer to him. “just close your eyes, okay?”

and maybe his warmth is all it takes to lull you into sleep. and maybe he really does intend on carrying you back to bed — but maybe he ends up falling asleep too, and maybe the two of you wake up entangled on the sofa the next morning. maybe.
