i really hope the daryl dixon show doesn't set up for daryl and isabelle to become a couple in the second season. it truly feels like that's the way it's leading and i just... don't like it :)

i liked isabelle's character. a lot, actually. it's always interesting and endearing to see people that were broken before the apocalypse find new life and purpose after everything seemed to go to hell. and something like maintaining spiritual vows even in the face of death on a day-to-day basis is so highly respectable, and i say that as an atheist.

i don't like the romantic undertone that they seem to put in scenes with her and daryl. they just don't... fit? any 'chemistry' they have feels forced. no matter how many times he insisted that he needed to get back to his family, people continued to try and convince him to stay; insinuating that they could be dead when he gets back, in isabelle's case using what he'd shared about his father against him to try and GUILT him into staying.

a romance between them would just feel tacky as well as disrespectful to isabelle's vows, and also very predictable? maybe they won't go that route and they just needed something to add tension to season 1, IDK. but i really have my fingers crossed that they don't pursue that.
