It will never not baffle me how hard society tries to insist that fatness is an abnormality. The average western woman wears plus size clothing. One of the smallest garments on the scale is called a medium. Most people with anorexia are in the overweight bmi category, yet somehow that's known as "atypical anorexia". Fatness is often labeled the cause of a number of diseases, but there are literally no diseases exclusive to fat bodies. Looking at movies and television, you'd think the world was 98% thin people. It's not.

My point isn't that if it was pretty rare to be fat, fatphobia would be okay. Of course not.

My point is that we're surrounded by all these artificial indicators that fatness is unnatural and uncommon and it's just not true?? Humans are not always thin and we've never all been thin and we're not all meant to be thin. Fat humans are a normal type of human. Fatness is a feature, not a bug.

I love it when women have hobbies and personalities that go beyond politics and ideologies. Find something to do that’s not geared towards constantly provoking anger and fear in you. Be fulfilled.

It started, I think, with the feminist assertion that women are full people with complex personalities, which necessarily contain negative elements; women are not victorian personifications of moral goodness. Of course women are even capable of evil acts. Then men got ahold of the idea, and set out to prove that women are just as bad as they are, that women rape others and beat their spouses and shoot people with the same frequency they do, but the data only ever pans out after intense manipulation and that's still not very often. I guess they want to feel better about themselves. Sighing, the men decide that women just must harm differently, like more passive aggressively or something. And then we loop back around to the idea that a less than perfect mother is equivalent to a serial killer.

Creating “cis” as the oppressor class was really a brilliant move. The fact that transphobia is a form of misogyny that still ultimately benefits men can be entirely circumvented. The fact that transphobic violence is performed mostly by men is overlooked. The fact that women are oppressed from birth by sex is pushed under the rug. Because oppressors should have no voice in the struggle of the oppressed, in one fell swoop, women are entirely silenced. They may not point out the misogyny in the “gender spectrum.” They may not call anything a “women’s issue” to highlight the misogynistic motives behind it, as that is now exclusionary. Lesbians now don’t get a say in their sexuality or terms. Women don’t get to speak about the realities of womanhood from birth, because now it also is now exclusionary. Really, this was an amazingly effective political move.
