This was a bad idea, a terrible idea in fact. 

Why you had agreed to this, you had no idea. Actually, that was a complete lie, you knew exactly why you’d agreed to this, and it had everything to do with proving Hoseok wrong and wiping that smug smile off his face. 

Wooyoung was a wonderful guy, and your first date went well. Had you initially planned to call him again? Maybe, you hadn’t decided until Hoseok pushed all your buttons. Essentially, you were perhaps using Wooyoung for the wrong reasons, but maybe seeing him hold his own against Hoseok would inspire more than the base-level attraction you had initially felt.

Date number two proved just as romantic as the first - a scenic boat ride along the river that Hoseok had hired for the day. Just the two of you, bobbing along the water, drinking wine and eating delicious strawberries covered in chocolate. It was heaven. 

Or at least it would have been if your boyfriend wasn’t distracted. You watched him, hands wrapped around the railing of the boat, head turned towards him as your eyes raked over his face. Hair ruffled by the wind, face pensive and troubled. You wanted to know what was going on in that beautiful head of his, but every time you asked him, he said he was fine.

You wanted to make a difference, to help unknown authors achieve their dreams while enjoying the benefits of reading so many incredible stories. Instead, so far all you had done is take notes in meetings and get Hyunwoo his coffee every morning.
