I have a couple Sims made with custom sliders, but they’ve been “fixed” so they cannot procreate! :P They make very ugly offspring most often. I don’t always feel comfortable “using” other peoples’ Sims, either.
Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but I personally like the idea of settling down others' sims in my town. Like you, I rarely (if any) play other families. My immortal hybrid vampires fulfill my gaming needs pretty well. :P
Every time my heavily "CAS'ed" sims give a birth, though, I have a chance of getting an ugly offspring, but it's rather an exception than a rule. Just to name a few:
Elena Lord
(Forgot-The-Name) Lord
Cesare Westbrook
Others are okay. Look:

Some pretty Sims, there! If the child is a clone of one parent or the other, they’re fine, but if they get mixed genetics (which is most often) they’re ugly. Without the sliders installed, the results for me are more on the hideous side.
Thank you. :)
Honestly, I'm not a fan of cloning. I see the point why simmers do so, but I don't practice that.
The Sims 3 has amazingly developed genetics system, so the results (even those one can classify as horse's asses, especially them!) are mostly interesting, for me, at least. Besides, there's always CAS. :D

Hard to tell which one from that angle! They all seem to look alike anyway! :P
Heeey! There're few exceptions. :D
That screen depicts, actually, only one horse's arse. Manu Dai is a cutie!

Oh, I drool over her Sims all the time, but I don’t use sliders…so I just do a lot of window shopping!
So let it be that way. ;)
The good thing is until you try to adjust sim's facial structure in CAS, the lineament will remain intact, even without custom sliders installed. :)
