During the first Telltale series I was annoyed. I was like, damn I’m wayyy too autistic for this. Because I’d pick one dialogue option and it’d come out completely differently than I intended and I was so frustrated by it and thought it was keeping me from playing the game “right”. But I was reading a forum where someone said that a big part of the game is that you’re supposed to feel the regret of your choices and face the consequences in real time. The intent is for it to get unnerving and awkward and fucked up. As silly as it sounds, I didn’t realize there was no right/wrong way to play. Which tbh—also led me to believe that I’m actually playing pretty authentically because, as an autistic person, I usually do end up saying something “wrong” and everything turning out weird because of it. So at least Bruce/Bat and I have that in common 🤝 which makes it cool to microdose the experience of being a complete social outcast in a way that doesn’t actually effect me.
