In 2010, I illustrated my take on that particular Fear status spell.

Over 10 years later, I decided to redo it.

The original, for those who'd like to compare. Honestly, Younger Me was definitely cooking, making this particular Fear spell being the worst possible illusion you could have. I hope I made it a lot scarier this time!

This is how everyone else got gradually more and more competitive also

Mario is a perfect gentleman around Peach and always on his best behavior, super chivalrous and polite. One day Peach invites him to play tennis or something, and Luigi has to pull her aside beforehand and be like, “Listen. What you’re about to see is not my brother. Please remember him how he was. Please for the love of god.”

And then she witnesses Mario lose his absolute shit for the next three hours while they go toe to toe, and he’s muttering to himself and trash talking and cursing the ball out and throwing rackets and fuming because he lost and he’s the sorest loser in the whole goddamn world and she’s never seen anyone be so dramatic about losing a game before

After they leave the court he bounces up to her all excited and says that was so much fun and they should host annual parties where they invite all their friends to compete together and she’s so confused and intrigued that she agrees just to see what will happen. And then she decides to name it after him.

"Sonic is a do gooding hero! Comic says so!!!"

No he's not. He will take people out if they're in his way, or capture him. He's jaded at times and can give authorities the middle finger, this is those times.
