Her parents eyed the man sitting among the crowd of other workers on their lunch break. “But he’s so…” Her mother visibly recoiled at Ryan gargling the alphabet, being cheered on by the masses.

“I’m sure he’s great, sweetie, but couldn’t you have chosen someone with more–how you say–class?” Daisy’s father turned his eyes away from the crowd, more than ready to end this visit.

“Maybe he’s not classy enough for you, but he’s got more class than every stuck-up no-fun-allowed rich guy you tried pairing me with. Mother, father, please. I’m finally happy. Don’t try to take this from me.”

Her mother frantically tapped her father’s arm. “He’s coming this way. Quickly, now.” Her parents tried not to make their abrupt departure obvious, but it was pretty blatant.

Daisy crossed her arms, murmuring. “You’d think for wealthy folk they’d be better at social etiquette.”
