I Hate When Old People Get Mad When I Say That I Hate The Mentality Ofrespecting Your Elders Simply Because

I hate when old people get mad when I say that I hate the mentality of ‘respecting your elders simply because they are your elders’. 

Like No! 

I’m not gonna respect someone who hasn’t earned it. Like sure I’ll always treat you with basic human respect but to earn the respect of an authority figure, you have to work for it. 

Like I’m not gonna give anything more that basic human respect, if you are challenging my rights, or my future or my right to live. 

Like sorry I’m not giving you that power over me. 

I’ve learnt my lesson on giving someone that power over me. I’m not gonna do it again.
