Rathalaugust day 10 (catchup): Teostra

Emperor of flame! And, under the cut, the WIP from way back when it actually day 10. (Time is nearly up - I want to finish something for every day before it hits september in my timezone, which is a little over an hour than now ^^)

I would've completed this one, but it felt like I was putting a lot of time and work into something that I wasn't sure about. not to say the one I did finish is better but it was less work lol. Maybe I'll come back to something like this

Before the past month, I posted fairly rarely - not because I wasn't drawing, but for reasons like lack of confidence and high standards. During Rathalaugust, I decided I had to have, and share, a finished product for every day whether I thought it was to standard or not, and got some pretty surprising results to help squash that mindset with.

I'm not going to promise a drawing every day in a post-Rathalaugust world, but I'll certainly try to avoid another such dry spell!

Anyway, 31 drawings in a month is a lot so I think I'm due a brief rest. But I have a long list of things to be drawing, so I hope to see you again soon! Perhaps in a few days?

No no this is so cool!! I'm pretty clueless on this so I love hearing about these guys :D I like the look and sound of Eo Garudia.

Nef-Garmat's name was apparently first localized in TEPPEN, a card game for smartphones that featured a lot of MonHun monsters. It also appeared in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, so I guess it was getting into a lot of phone games and not a lot else.

I'm hoping at least some of the monsters from Frontier/Online/Explore get the Espinas treatment. I'm not holding my breath, but I'd love for them to be seen as a valid pool to pull past monsters from. There are some really neat ones I'd love to see immortalised in the main series (and at the very least, something like Nef-Garmat - being a flagship from a now lost game - is a great candidate).

As a non-Japanese Monster Hunter fan, my understanding of Monster Hunter Explore pretty much only extended as far as weird subspecies like "Christmas Volvidon" and "Sweet Tooth Tigrex". But I've just discovered it's flagship monster is this??

It's an Elder Dragon called Nef-Garmat. I know nothing about them but I love them already
