"Astarion Is Actually So Masculine And Wants To Protect And Provide For Tav! He's Actually Really Strong
"Astarion is actually so masculine and wants to protect and provide for Tav! He's actually really strong physically and can throw Tav around! And also he's always on top so he's clearly masculine! And him being with women means he gets an extra special vampire treat ;)"
"Astarion is such a bratty effeminate twink who complains about his nails and cares too much about his appearance! His voice and movements are sooo campy! I simply can't imagine him with a woman, he's sooo gay-coded, he's simply made to be a bratty bottom."

More Posts from Winterlymor
Back to my Slay the Princess rambles and the information each route gives.
I’ve already touched on Beast and Spectre, so I for now I’ll go over the Witch and Damsel routes.
The Witch is a beloved route of mine ever since I played the demo (along with the Stranger). One reason I particularly like it is the differences in how you get to it. One thing I notice in my playthroughs and writing this is how the willpower you have in conflict with the Princess changes the routes. In this case, when you backstab her you can either go Beast or Witch. The main difference I’ve found here is if you give up and she overpowers you it goes to Beast. If you continue to stand your ground then you’re taken to the Witch.
Within the Witch we learn
- she can’t leave the cabin
- she has some influence over the construct (starting with the basement)
Oh the Damsel, one of my favorites routes~ Getting to be silly with the power of love(?) will always be top tier content to me. Buttttttt I do have one little question about her? Does she really love the player (LQ) as her own person and not a piece of SM? Damsel in name alone is VERY interesting. And what SM says about her does beg the question of, “Are all the vessels like puppets?”
She says that “You molded her to love you” and that we shouldn’t mourn her since she “has served her purpose”. What was that purpose? It was to explicitly show us that amidst all of the fighting and killing, SM still loves LQ.
Literally one of the first pieces of text we get when we start the game is that “This is a love story.” And taking it a step further, this isn’t just about romantic love. It’s of course about self love when you consider that Shifty and Long were once one being, and that they have to learn to accept the contradictions that make them who they are. That’s not all either! The voices in our heads while yes still count as an extension of self, at some points they feel like the friends we’ve made along the way.
Me and my bestie the Smitten>>>
So after watching a bunch of streamers/youtubers play Slay the Princess and through my own playthroughs with my friends I’ve realized something about how the story comes together
Let me preface this by saying that I don’t think there’s a RIGHT way to experience Slay the Princess, BUT I do think that the first princess you meet can lead to a bit more confusion than others
!!major spoiler warning!! for like the basic story
I got this idea specifically after watching Porcelain Maid’s stream of it where he got The Beast and subsequently The Wild.
The Beast is pretty interesting as a route considering the information you get from her
- she can’t leave the cabin without you (alive)
- she doesn’t want to end the world
- your choice can drastically change her appearance/ how she adapts to your choices
I think The Wild as a path greatly benefits from your understanding of the chapter cycle and the Narrator confrontation.
For The Wild you figure out
- you’re in a construct
- you and the princess must work together to leave it (sound familiar?)
- as the long quiet, technically you are your own prison (i’ll explain this more later) (maybe in another post)
Tbh I think it’s really cool for certain routes to be shrouded in mystery and wtf-ness but later in the the story with more context it can really shine.
In comparison, Markiplier got The Spectre as his first. And The Good Ending but I’ll talk about that ending another time.
In The Spectre there are a pretty cool amount of tidbits you can figure out just by how you get there
- killing the princess is actually pretty easy
- the Narrator’s a piece of shit reward is an eternity of nothingness
- perception changes the princess’s form (you perceive her as dead therefore she is)
- she can’t leave the cabin without you (alive)
- she doesn’t have a narrator or any voices
- she has an inherent wish to be whole in some way (in this case it’s to “go home”)
- the Narrator is not a voice, something entirely different
This information is really cool to start off with specifically if you’re a lore player or just want to piece the story together. All of this has led me to wondering, what would be the “best” way to get all of the story in one run? Which combination of Princesses cover somewhat everything from the player’s and her abilities to the introduction of the construct without the Narrator filling in everything at the end?

I would like to start by introducing myself, I'm Maowie. Am a writer here on tumblr and today I want to use my platform with a small following...HOPING to spread information and awareness about what is currently going on in my country, THE PHILIPPINES.
Filipino fishermens in my country are currently being harassed by The China Coast Guard, provoking trouble inside waters under Philippine Jurisdictions. Asserting Dominance and CLAIMING that the WEST PHILIPPINES SEA IS THEIRS.
As a Filipino myself, I fear for my fellow countrymen and posting about this issue is the only way I could spread awareness and call for support for my people. Donations are not needed nor being asked for, what I request is for the people who will reach this to repost and spread.
THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA BELONGS TO THE PHILIPPINES AND THE PHILIPPINES ALONE!!

Continuing my yap session about Slay the Princess, the Good Ending is so interesting.
!!SPOILERS!!
When you think about it, the symbolism goes crazy. Already we have the Long Quiet represented as an owl-like creature (a bird). And at least to me, considering the Shifting Mound contains change in her multitudes that also implies freedom.
The Narrator seeks to keep life, LQ, a precious bird in a cage, the construct, after destroying its freedom to fly with the wind/change, SM.
