Please Think Of Supporting Me If You Never Have.

The longer we're here, the closer we get to being homeless. I've been extremely depressed and unable to create anything for the past few weeks because of this constant threat to my and my cats well being.

Things started to look up, so I was able to paint a few new things in the last couple of days. Now, we're being told to wait ANOTHER week for a job we've been waiting almost two for already, and we are honestly grasping at nothing. He has applied to almost every place in this small town.

I just put up a few new things.

Please, think of supporting me at this time.

Stanydale Temple, Shetland

Stanydale Temple is a mysterious Neolithic site, as not much is known about it. It is likely dating from between 2,500 and 2,000 BC and was a place of importance and ritual. It was first excavated in 1949, having been exposed over time by peat cutting. At first it was believed to be a temple similar to ones found in Malta, but nowadays similarities to other ‘heel-shaped’ ancient structures on Shetland is acknowledged. Remains of burnt sheep bones and rare stones used as knives suggest a ritual character. It may have been a community hall or the house of a very important person. There are also standing stones nearby and excavated remains of a farmhouse. The property is maintained by Historic Environment Scotland, but is free to visit all year round.
