Testing Astrology (all posts under this headline are tagged testing astrology)

I'm trying to figure out if astrology is a useful tool or not. I use ChatGPT because websites keep annoying me with ads and payment. So it might not be too accurate but honestly I don't care that much. After I finish this I'll make a master post, link everything and write down what I think. If you think there's a better way to do this please tell me. It might be silly to share these but I would love to see people approach astrology more critically rather than just agreeing with it or dismissing it.

Week 2: Love

(I'm a week late, I posted the first week privately because it was too personal. This one is too but I'm anonymous so whatever.)

I started worshipping Aphrodite at a time I was struggling with homophobia. The homophobes around me had started getting under my skin and making me feel like shit. "disgusting, perverted, sick..." She certainly helped me heal from that, directly or indirectly.

I struggle with feeling loved even when I am literally right next to them because of my mental health. People I used to feel a deep connection with feel cold now. I'm too apathetic towards everything. Despite that it is getting better thanks to Her.

I show love physically and verbally. I also try to take care of them when they are having a hard time by listening, offering distractions or getting them snacks.

Happy Friday!

As you may know, Fridays are sacred to Lady Aphrodite. Every week on Friday, I post something similar to this- a topic of the day followed by a question and a challenge for you to try if you choose.

Last week’s post can be found here.

Today’s Topic: Love

Lady Aphrodite is the goddess of love. That means all love. From romantic, to familial, platonic, queerplatonic, self love, any type of love.

The thing is, not all of us feel love! Of course, there are those who identify as loveless and don’t experience any type of love, and that is completely valid. (Loveless is different than aroace or other similar identities, aspec people of all kinds can feel love, as an aroace person, I do, but many don’t.)

What I want to talk about here, is those of us who experience love, but don’t feel loved. Life can be hard, and sometimes we don’t allow ourselves to see the love that others feel for us. We can be feeling down and believe that we aren’t loved.

The thing is, every one of us is loved. Whether that be by family (chosen or blood), friends, partner(s), and of course, Lady Aphrodite Herself. She cares about and loves each and every one of us, and everybody deserves unconditional love. She loves you, the good and the bad. She recognizes that you make mistakes, but that you are more than those.

Aphrodite Pandemos is “common to all”, and that means all. She loves you for your differences, she loves you for your faults, she loves you for you.

Today’s Question:

How has following Lady Aphrodite changed the way you feel love? Do you feel more loved? Do you show your love for others in different ways?

Bonus:

In what ways do you show your love for others?

Challenge:

This week, do your best to notice people showing their love for you or others, and let others know how much you care about them.

As always, feel free to reblog or reply to this post with your answers to the question and/or bonus. Other options include writing it down somewhere, a journal or something similar, or just taking a moment to think about it. My answer will be in a reblog.

May Lady Aphrodite bless you with the ability to know how loved and cared about you are, and may you always know that you are enough.

Hmm.. I'm going to say something that's even more controversial. I don't know about the Bible but I can talk about the Quran. I am from a Muslim family and in Turkey, a country which has mandatory religion classes that praise Islam and shit on atheists. So, as a non-believer I did lots of research to call them out on their bullshit.

The Quran is a holy book. It's a book of rules. Not stories. It says itself that it has clear orders and cannot be changed. Books that contain myths just tell stories with morals. There are no rules.

Muslims are expected to believe without signs. Only prophets can get messages from God. They must not expect miracles. People who worship the old gods these days believe they can communicate with the Gods through divination. They can ask for signs.

In Islam you have to believe in God or you are a sinner and you will burn in hell. You must follow God's orders and not sin. He says that his orders are clear. You can't just change and adapt them to modern day without sinning.

For example the Quran says that a man is allowed 4 wives as long as he can care for all of them equally and as many concubines as he wants. A woman is only allowed 1 husband. People often defend this by saying that it's because children wouldn't survive for long and the more children the better. However if it's sent by the one true God then he must state why this is allowed, as he himself says the book is very clear.

I hope I don't get cancelled lol. Of course everyone is allowed to practice their religion however they want but if you believe that I will go to hell for not covering my hair and being gay then fuck you and your religion.

About the Greek Gods doing shitty things in myths

First of all I have to say that I see the gods as representations of something bigger that we cannot comprehend otherwise. I believe they shape themselves in a way that we need.

Hera is the Goddess of marriage. Of course women who were cheated on would tell their stories through her. Ancient Greece was patriarchal. Of course the stories portrayed her as overly jealous, punishing other women instead of her husband. Zeus is a high male authority figure. Of course he is going to sleep with lots of women and boys in myths. Getting away with rape? Cheating on his wife? Doesn't sound that surprising to me.

The abduction of Persephone is about the changing of the seasons and how mothers feel when they are separated from their mothers through marriage. How common was it to get the girl's consent when she's getting married? Probably just an arrangement between fathers. Hell, how old were the girls?

The myths are reflections of the Greeks, not the gods. Gods are the characters of the stories. I do believe that the Greeks communicated with them through divination. I do believe that their religions were real. But we shouldn't forget that written texts can be messed with for political or social reasons. These are not holy books. We need to consider them carefully.

Delightful golden goddess

Hear my prayers once again

Let me hold you tight, while I share you my fears

Oh I dance around my room with glee you give me

Yearning is all around

I am one who doesn't get romance

But you understand, your thd one who helped me accept me for me

It isn't about who I am, I know no matter what ,you will protect me

Oh hail all holy aphrodite 💝

Shall I compare you to a vast ocean?

Even so, you are more mysterious.

Gorgeous goddess of loving emotion,

You are humble, and unimperious.

None are more beautiful, none more sublime,

Your sweetness, so potent it'd fill a room.

Golden, like the summers blazing sunshine,

More fair than even the newest rose bloom.

You are the venus star, heavenly queen.

Laughter loving, and of most shapely form,

Light-hearted goddess, of a friendly mien.

So kind, so sweet, your demeanor so warm.

Mother of desire, Mother of all,

With you, I stand proud, with you, I stand tall.
