not to come into your inbox out of left field (sorry!!) but the out-there au & canon character dynamic *i’m* curious about is 7c9s verse angeal and genesis (and sephiroth and cloud, i presume) getting temporarily crammed in the same dimension as their mostly-canonish counterparts. especially wrt canon sephiroth (at this point in his life) being a prick but not (as far as 7c9s angeal and genesis are concerned) an abusive scumbag piece of shit who (as far as 7c9s genesis is concerned) beats the shit out of a little kid regularly. even if the kid is cloud.

I think they'd be appalled by their counterparts. Cloud's circumstances (and, to some extent, the example of pure selflessness he set) forced them to become better people. 7Genesis would never do what canon Genesis did. 7Angeal would never force Zack to kill him. He'd never think of himself as a monster so easily, because then what would he be able to say to Cloud? Who cares about wear, tear, and rust when there's a kid who needs you right there?

They would definitely be shocked that Sephiroth is capable of not being a true monster.

I have many a thought when I see those tape ball cutting videos.

"Wow, I hope all these content creators dont just throw the tape balls out after the video because that would be a lot of plastic waste," and "I know its not food, but monkey brain says it looks like food and now I want to bite it."

But most importantly, I desperately need to know what texture these damn things are. Do they feel like foam? Are they squishy? Does the feel change between it being a compact ball and after its been cut? I don't know and that haunts me.

Ok so I'm taking a genetics class right now and in lab we've been given fruit flies with different mutations that we need to breed over the course of the semester.

Now, first thing I learned: fruit flies don't eat fruit. They eat yeast. They eat the yeast on fermenting fruit. They can not actually eat fruit. Their name is a lie.

Secondly, one of the two mutant lines I was given to cross are flies with the apterous mutation, aka they're wingless. I feel so bad for them, they can't do the one thing they're named for, they cant fly.

And then I realized. My fruit flies are in truth insects that eat yeast and can't fly.

Anyways, I've been calling them my yeast crawls and I am their god now.

I am viscerally imagining this in my head right now. Rehydrated potato, yeast, and ether.

I've started smelling it in places not in the lab and I don't know how to handle this.
