It’s so hard to write angst for my gyu ugh😭

To beomgyu, you were everything. If anything, you were to perfect. The way you lit up the room with just your smile and your laugh. Your mere presence and positivity was so contagious, he could never find himself down around you.

He was so so smitten, it was really obvious. You had him wrapped around your finger, you had stolen his heart without knowing. When he finally had the courage to ask you out he was on cloud nine when you reciprocated his feelings.

In your eyes he was perfect. Attentive, funny, loud. But then he had his quiet side that you also loved so much. Soft, comforting, clingy. He was full of surprises but you loved every single one.

However over the months of being with you, Beomgyu began to feel insecure. Overthinking, negative thoughts that ate him alive. He would tell himself you deserved better. That his problems with himself would only damage your pure aura.

He didn’t wanna taint that just because of his negative thoughts. So he began to feel guilty, when he began to grow distant and he’d watch your face fell. He knew this was worst than just opening up to you but he couldn’t, he was to scared.

In the spur of the moment, instead of communicating, instead of talking to you. He broke up with you, with nothing but.

‘It’s not you it’s me.’

He meant it full heartedly, but he knows how it looks like. Basically short for saying

‘I don’t want to be with you.’

No matter how much he reassured you, tried to give you closure that this was for the best. You called him selfish, for not giving you a good enough reason for ruining your relationship. You loved him no matter what he did, he would always have your heart. And he was the exact same way.

Right when he saw your once gleaming eyes now glazed with tears. He knew he fucked up, he never regretted something so much. But it was too late when you were out the door.

His friends were more than shocked when they found out he broke things off with you. They all knew just how much you both impacted each other’s lives. So to find out that you weren’t together, they knew this wasn’t going to turn out well.

But just like that, months pass by and by without contact. Until one night, he sees you at a night out with his friends, you look so happy.

You’re glowing and he almost feels his heart stop. It was like the first time he fell in love with you all over again.

You turn and catch his eye and instead of giving him the biggest smile you could muster up like you used to, your face drops. He gulps as you quickly walk away.

He knows he’s stupid, that this was stupid but he follows you. You’re at the other side of the club, sitting down and having a drink. It’s like you sense his presence because right when he sat down, you tense up. He’s about to speak but you beat him to it.

“What do you want Choi.” His heart breaks at the coldness in your voice.

“You look…nice.” He whispers and you scoff.

“Are we done here?” You finally look at him and his eyes soften, brows pulled together.

“You called me selfish the day we broke up and you’re right. I am selfish because, I want you back more than anything.”

You rub your temple, sending him a glare but you both knew it was just a front to protect your broken heart.

“If you do wanna give me another chance and let me communicate like I should’ve in the first place, give me a call.” He stands up, sighing.

He fully believes you won’t hear him because of the music but you do.

“I love you.”

And then he’s gone, leaving you to meddle with your thoughts and bottled up feelings, already missing his presence.
