Yang Jungwon found himself shivering for the fifth time in the night.

Your body laid next to his on the bed, sound asleep. He wondered how your unconscious self could snooze so guiltlessly after having once again snatched the blankets from his now freezing body.

He huffed, frustration bubbling in his chest over how hard it was to be angry at your peaceful face. You looked like an angel, the fluffy blankets you were swaddled up in your holy robes. Your eyes were closed, showing off your long, pretty eyelashes, and from your soft, slightly ajar lips came gentle snores, filling the otherwise silent space of the room. Indeed, you were a picturesque vision of tranquillity, sleeping away without a care in the world.

An angel was still a thief, however. And Jungwon was still very, very cold.

This was ridiculous, he thought. He’d never get any decent sleep at this rate.

He continued to gaze at your sleeping figure as he pondered. He knew that pulling the sheets from you would be a useless endeavour. It would only result in continuing the tug of war that had been happening the entire night. Should he grab another blanket? No. You’d probably steal that one too.

Jungwon sighed, forlorn. The cat print pyjamas covering his entire body did nothing to stop the biting cold from penetrating his skin, turning his flesh into ice. Everything he did to combat the glaciating of his body was in vain – no rubbing of his arms against his skin, curling up into a ball or violent shivering could stop the eventual frostbite he’d develop.

You, however, were probably so, so warm in comparison to him. Wrapped in stolen goods and aggravatingly unaware of his freezing form. And yet like the angel you are, you still somehow looked so sweet. So huggable.

Huggable….. Huggable?

Ah.

Jungwon may have found the solution to his dilemma.

Rolling over to your side of the bed, he gently made quick work of the blankets encasing your form, until they were evenly spread around both of your bodies. The commotion caused you to finally stir awake, eyes half-lidded as you regarded Jungwon sleepily.

“What are you doing?” Grogginess clung to your voice as you spoke.

Jungwon shushed you as he snaked his arms around your waist.

“You’re so cold….” you whined drowsily as you felt him pull you flush against him.

“I wouldn’t be so cold if you hadn’t kept stealing the blankets.”

Jungwon felt relief flood into his veins. He could feel himself finally start to defrost as he held himself against your warm frame.

“Now go to sleep,” his voice had now lowered to a whisper as he felt himself finally begin to drift off.

You simply hummed, responding with a short ‘sorry’ before snuggling further into him, face smushed against his chest, once again succumbing to sleep.

Jungwon fought the urge to roll his eyes and opted to instead kiss your temple with a smile, before finally entering the land of the dreaming.

“i actually do!” minju exclaimed as she looked over at us “oh here they are!, let’s welcome the super rookies new jeans!” she says as minji leads the way standing next to lee know

“since it’s your first time here with us please introduce yourself one by one” minju smiles looking over at hyein who was standing nervously “hello, this is hyein, im in charge of being cute!” we all chuckle “hello this is danielle !, the vitamin d of newjeans!”

as everyone introduces themselves i notice lesserafim and enhypen standing waiting for their turns to get interviewed, suddenly eunchae sees me and smiles “hi” she whispered and i just smile looking back the rest of the girls

“hello this is hanni, the wink fairy of newjeans!!” “hello this is haerin, the one who has the most unknown charms of the group !”

“hello ! this is minji of new jeans!” finally the camera pans to me “hello this is y/n of newjeans, nice to meet you!” i said, unaware that at that moment someone else other than eunchae was looking at me.

you were positive that you were going to freeze your ass off.

sitting in the back of the class meant that the cool air from the ac would be hitting you directly, and you had conveniently forgotten to bring your sweater.

but you just had to deal with it for a few more seconds. the bell would ring any time no-

and theres goes the bell.

you rushed out of class, running out anxious to meet your boyfriend. youd been missing him terribly for some reason. not seeing his face every other minute wasnt great.

you wait by your usual bus stop and your heart trips in its place when your eyes find him rushing to you smiling.

he gives you a big warm hug, that you reciprocate with all your love. he doesnt let go even after a minute.

“won? are you alright?” you ask him, pulling away to see his gorgeous face. he smiles at you, fingers intertwined.

“yeah. i just really really missed you today. a lot. for some reason.”

“guess youre not the only one then.” you say, landing a small kiss on his cheeks, his smile widening.

your bus would take another ten minutes to arrive, so you ask him about his day, as if you hadn’t seen each other in ages.

midway his rambling, you notice his tie a bit loose. not wanting to interrupt his monologue, you just pull him closer and start fixing his tie.

he visibly softens at the action, and stops talking.

you look up at him “huh? go on im listening. i just wanted to fix your tie. dont worry im listening.”

maybe it was the atmosphere, maybe it was just you, or actually he doesnt know what it was, that made him want to kiss you so badly then and there.

and he does, after you finish fixing his tie.

he pulls you in by the waist, cupping your jaw and pressing his lips onto yours. you let out a small gasp in surprise, and he takes the opportunity to deepen the kiss.

he rubs his fingers across your cheek, and your heart feels like its about to burst out of its cage.

“what was that for?” you ask when he pulls away

“i dont know. you just looked really kissable.”

y/n didn’t exactly know how to react when she first saw the dispatch pictures of her and her best friend

she of course panicked knowing she would be in so much trouble, she was already getting hate due to the jungwon scandal and now she’s in a dating rumor barley two days of after her debut.

she scrolled through the post soompi posted looking at people commenting on it saying how she’s weighing new jeans down already

all she could do is hope for yg or hybe entertainment to reply with a statement clearing her and haruto’s name, but she doubted that people would stop hating on her.

3:10 am

she couldn’t sleep.

that’s how she ended up in a park bench nearby eating a cookie that she bought for two dollars at the convenient store on her way to the park

shit ! she dropped the cookie, she sighed looking at at the cookie she payed for, she chuckled, feeling as if the whole world was against her at the moment

she silently cried looking up at the stars not knowing what would happen once everyone was awake looking at the news and especially how her manager was going to react.

“hey” she heard a voice, quickly wiping her tears away, she sat up and looked around locking eyes with a pretty tall guy who had a confused expression

“you okay?” he asked, she stayed quiet just nodding quickly standing up “y-yeah, you can sit here if you want, i was just leaving anyways”

“wait” he grabbed her hand “your y/n, right?” y/n stopped looking back up at the guy again realizing that he was an enhypen member, she knew because of how she searched up jungwon when the scandal happened and so she checked out the rest of the members…he’s niki? she thought

“no it’s hannah” she blurts out, he smiles “well then hannah, why were you crying?” he asked for the third time, sitting down at the bench she was just sitting at

she looked over at the empty space next to him “what are you doing here?” she questioned, why would he be out here alone at three in the morning ?

“i asked a question first…hannah” y/n sighed sitting down next to him, “you know” she said and she was right, he did know both reasons actually

“no, no i don’t” she looked over at him and rolled her eyes “you’re that niki guy, i know you know why, it’s about your friend and something else”

niki eyes widened, she knows who i am ! because of jungwon…

“and you’re that y/n girl, so yeah i do know unless you’re actually hannah and you look a lot like that y/n girl!” he joked

it stayed quiet for a bit, the wind blowing slightly both of them looking at he ground “i dropped that cookie” she chuckled pointing at the cookie she dropped earlier “i started crying after that because i felt like life was being messing with me at that point”

niki looked over at the girl who was still looking down at the cookie on ground “i don’t know, i feel like im overreacting, i couldn’t sleep and ended up scrolling through some comments on some posts about me”

the same posts niki had read, wondering why everyone was hating on a girl who they didn’t even know calling her such harsh words

“soompi and dispatch suck” he complained “you know, i’m pretty sure jungwon didn’t mean it like that”

he knew jungwon didn’t mean it like that but didn’t say anything because then he would have to tell her how he was also silently saying “pick me choose me love me” but only jungwon got caught saying it out of context

she stayed silent before changing the topic “my turn, why are you here?” he shrugged “i go out at night sometimes and nobody notices”

“what if your a serial killer at night and an idol during the day and i’m your next victim?” they both laugh

“well then hannah can be the victim but y/n can live i guess”

“well then hannah is dead…i guess” again it went silent again but this time it felt peaceful

niki wanted to ask about her and haruto but looked over at her basically falling asleep “c’mon it’s about to be four thirty” he stood up offering to walk together back to the building.

as they walk up to the door they lock eyes again “maybe we can go to a cafe soon” he says breaking the silence “maybe” she responds

“maybe i’ll go with hannah instead”

“hey ! didn’t you kill her!” he smiled softly “maybe i’ll bring her back from the dead since you don’t want to go, i was going to buy you another cookie but okay”

“wait, you will?” he nodded “we can go tomorrow actually…give me your number and i’ll text you if we can go tomorrow” she offered

his eyes lit up as she took out her phone from her pocket “so are you not going to tell me or?”

“n-no let me type it in” he said, she handed over the phone to him watching him basically smile while putting his number in

“so-“ he got cut off with the voice of danielle “their you are..and you are niki sunbaenim?”

she looked over at y/n and back at niki “minji was asking for you” she says to y/n and with that they both parted ways both knowing they would talk again soon.
