This is Fares Mutair, 13 years old, living in Gaza city with my family. I trained so much to become a swimmer and participate in championships. All that changed after the 7th of October2023. Now I and my family which includes my parents and 2 sisters living in a tent in the South of Gaza Strip, after evacuating our home and we moved 8 times from a place to another until reaching the South (alburij). We lost our home and my sister got injured and lost all of her children and husband.

The situation is very hard:

- There is not enough water for drinking or other uses.

- No basic medical services or hospitals.

- The diseases and epidemics spread between people who use the same facilities.

- The food is very expensive and not enough for all people.

- The cost of life is very high especially that we lost our small shop.

All my family members are suffering from severe trauma, especially after losing my sister’s children (Miral, 9 years old, Mayar 8 years old, and Fawzi 6 years old)💔😔

My name is Aya Yasser, I am 19 years old. I live with my family under siege in Gaza City - Palestine. I study at the University of Palestine, specializing in technology. Because of the war on my city, all academic universities were destroyed and stopped. There will be no other refuge left for me to complete my studies and achieve the dreams that I want, and what was left of them was destroyed. My items that I used, such as my laptop, through which I could save money to help my family, but everything was destroyed. I have a father, an elderly man who is 55 years old, and he is sick, and I cannot provide treatment and a suitable place to care for him. He also makes a great effort to provide basic needs such as water, some food and medicine, but unfortunately life has become truly tragic for us.

We lived a relatively stable life in Gaza prior to October 7 th, 2023. Since then, we have been displaced multiple times. We left our home, our belongings, our life and dreams. We finally ended up in a tent after moving in multiple unsafe homes. My children as a result, are suffering from malnutrition, inability to sleep and fear of bombing and explosions all around us.

We are in a continuous state of unrest and it's taking a toll on us physically, mentally and emotionally.

We are in dire need of help to hopefully move out to safety and provide for our family. My father needs a surgical intervention to remove gangrene from his foot and my father-in-law is suffering from severe depression after the death of my mother-in-law. My youngest is anxious and cries all the time. Our world is collapsing and I can’t figure out a way out of our situation. This war has changed our life to living a constant nightmare.

We no longer have the minimum necessities of life

No homes, no water, no electricity, nothing left.

Then the office where my husband worked was destroyed. My husband works as a computer engineer. The entire tower, which included many companies and private clinics, was bombed.

We lost many friends, including my husband’s mother, who died in the war as a result of extreme fear and gangrene in the intestines due to malnutrition. My children are still grieving for their dear grandmother, and now we live in a tent that lacks the lowest standards of living.

Our suffering has been continuing for about seven months, in light of the cold, rain, and lack of winter clothes.
