Write a story based on something spring related. Sorry for being a bit late again! But here we are with another monthly prompt. I kinda call it: spring awakening, since spring is just around the corner (well, in most countries at least).So you can write anything spring related. A poem filled with emotions. A oneshot filled with new love ... anything.

The precedent of words is up to you, but it should be longer than 1.500 at least

The sound of the rain hitting the windshield lightly echoed in the silent car as Yoongi let his thoughts fuzz. His brother’s quiet breathing in the front seat was the only thing pulling him away from his thoughts, his own voice poking through.

“What are we gonna do now?”

Yoongi knew that even if he got an answer, it wouldn’t be the right one. So he shrugs his shoulders, letting the question land gently on him as he prayed the car seat would swallow him whole. Maybe that would hurt less than watching his brother desperately wipe away at his face, pretending nothing hurt when they both knew it did. Yoongi wondered if he was supposed to hurt like that but then recalls what his doctor told him earlier.

Grief is different for everyone, maybe he might handle it better than you expect.

How did they expect him to handle it?

Was he supposed to be screaming, running around fighting everyone like his classmates?

Should he cry and throw himself over anyone who came close like he watched his aunts do?

Maybe he was supposed to be silent like his brother, pretending nothing was wrong as they waited for the light to change. He wasn’t sure, it’s only been a week after all.

“Well, maybe this won’t be too bad. We can do this together, right?”

The overtime is pulling at my eyelids when I lumber down the long hallway to reach my apartment. It sits quietly at the end of the hall. All the lights are off, except one. A dim pool of soft yellow spills from beneath the door across mine. But, I don’t linger on it. I struggle instead, to balance my laptop and all the folders in one hand and fit my key into the lock with the other. It’s been a long day. A single manila folder slips from the top of the stack as I press my weight against the door. It won’t go anywhere, I think, so I shuffle into my apartment to set things down.

I release the weight from my arms to the dining table. The mock-up designs for my most recent client slips out of its file and to the ground. I reach for it, but there is a knock on the door before I hear it click shut. The pang in my gut and the heat boiling through my body makes me freeze. No, I clasp my hands to my head, pushing through my hair in panic. It can’t happen again. The hand that holds the door is nearly hidden in a black sleeve. I act fast. Lunging forward, hands spread out, I push the door closed. He’s not coming in this time. Flesh and bone and blood– he deserves more damage than to only the hand that caused all of this.
