they say season 3 of stranger things takes place during 1985 and goonies which the duffer brothers inspired by  came out that year i hope we get a few references to it like dustin yells goonies never say die or they point out the mikey from goonies is some what similar to mikey from stranger things maybe the party goes to actually see it  or they are coming back from seeing it
