As we're getting into spooky season, I really wish I'd see more legitimately scary costumes.

Don't get me wrong - cosplay is cool and all but a lot of it isn't scary or Halloween-y.

Waiting for about a month from now when Barbie is on VOD when that cynical post-hype reevaluation kicks in and viewers that previously declared it the next cool hip progressive thing are suddenly like "Wait, this is dumb and problematic actually."

I read things like this and ask how is this any different from working for minimum wage in retail?

Most retail jobs now deliberately mass hire employees so they can schedule their employees less than 40 hours a week so they won't meet the requirements to qualify for the company's insurance and 401k benefits. I'm not surprised that the studios are doing the same thing.

I understand exactly why the actors and writers are pissed off because it pisses me off too.

This will probably fall on deaf ears I’m guessing because the people who should be listening aren’t going to pay attention the reality of what this means

But yeah most people striking don’t even come close to making a proper living wage let alone in the LA area

Are there rich people in the guild? Of course

But that’s not the majority who need the better contracts
