Flare got up and stumbled to the door, opening it and looking out at the stairs in the dark. She called softly, “Astarion?”  The tiefling materialized from the darkness, running up the steps silently to face her. His red eyes glinted, catching whatever sparse light there was. He looked especially like a devil then, wreathed in shadows and watching her. His chest was bare, and Flare could see protruding bones beneath his clavicles in a slightly narrowing V. He titled his head and the movement caught her attention. He asked, “What’s wrong?”
