⁺ ˳ ❀ "How do I say I miss you in a way that will make your heart ache in the way mine does?" ◌ ❤︎
Woe is in us all. It's in our hearts, our troubles, our deepest fears instilled within us. Waiting for its turn to churn in our stomachs and clog our throats until it becomes dry. Woe is the intangible feeling of the dreadful future looming over our heads like a countdown to our end. Woe is the women with the black laced veil obscuring her face in shadows, comparable to the jeweled sun hiding behind the comfort of the clouds. She wears a dragging black dress that keeps collecting dirt and grime on her train as she walks slowly through the fogged graveyard. It's undoubtably old, losing its shine as its been passed through generations, with the ragged, ripped fabric peeling off her skin. She doesn't have a name, but you can call her the grief you feel after your mother's passing, the fresh wound after a broken relationship, but most importantly, she is the names. Names of the dead, engraved into the stone hedges by their loved ones and carved out like they were sculpting their heart on a plate. They belong to her, as much she belongs to them. Easy to miss, yet hard to see, but even if you mistake her for a silhouette in the windy night, you could never ignore her song. A woeful tune, for those filled most with woe, if you will. It's a soft but dark melody that overwhelms you with anxiety, creeping up on you when you least expect it. A lullaby as much as a taunt, she whispers the words in a low hum with a crooked smile you can imagine even when you can't see her face.

GIFT FOR WIFEY REI!!! 🪼🪼💓💓 ALSO INSP STYLE FROM HER CLEARLY. uh I usually don't do this style don't be too harsh guys thank you....💔😭

I hope you're looking for my stories if you're checking alt text heh...if you actually read all of them under my moodboards then I just want to tell you ilysm and appreciate it. I've liked writing stories forever, and even after I kinda stopped doing it, knowing maybe even one person might like reading them motivated me a lot. I have a lot of stories to share that I never really told to anyone, so thank you for being here and allowing me to do so on a blog that has nothing to do with these silly stories. okay, enough yapping, story is in last row of images ;)

About the story LOOOOREEE... (Last image alt text) -->
Uh it wasn't actually intentional to match the images to the story's plot and stuff but it somehow kinda does. They don't have names yet so hope it isn't confusing who's who (there's 3 characters "existing" in this scene, 2 of them actually talking and alive). No, the two (alive) characters talking in this story are not romantically involved. The narrator is a female, and not really a "hero" in my imaginary idea of her, more like a "anti-villain" who has a lot of flaws like her short fuse and the way she lets emotions control her, but still despises villains for what they do. Her lover is dead on the ground, presumably killed by the villain. The villain's (the first male who speaks in the story,) backstory involves his own lover who is seemingly not around either anymore. These two characters are relating to each other despite their own personal backstory, morals, and actions. Both losing someone valuable and connecting about that horrible feelings. Both needing to learn with time how to heal from their own traumas.
"How does it feel?" He spoke indifferently, so soulless so not a single hint of emotion was left behind his expression or tone. He didn't deserve to feel nothing. He didn't get to. Not while my heart was being torn out of my chest and feeling like my brain was beating in place of my heart, pounding to be let out. He was just a heartless monster who took away what he couldn't have. Undeserving of lungs to breathe or hands to choke, while the person who truly should have been still alive was motionless on the ground we stood on.

Rage clawed from the insides of my throat with such sharpness and persistence it burned, and for a second I couldn't breathe. I moved my violently red-stained hand from the chest of the cold-stoned skinned corpse of my once lover, as my eyes slowly rose to meet the monster of a man's hard gaze. His voice, however, held no remnants of a gloat, nor glee. I was deeply agonized, expecting callously edged remarks or taunts about how he had won- and we had lost.

And yet he just stared. First at me, then at the corpse's lifeless state, and back at me again. The ringing in my head grew to be almost deafening, the intense soreness of my body still holding it's numbness over my senses when I tried to move. My voice sounded breathless as I swallowed hard to regain control over my own lungs, forcing my dry mouth to move and form words.

"What?"

The quiet disbelief and pure fury in my voice made him flinch the slightest bit, as if it might have bothered him for less than a moment's hesitation. My chest burned as I struggled to stand to face him, but I was so exhausted I couldn't get off my knees.

I grappled with my mind, willing myself to get it together. Damn it, why am I so weak? I promised him I would fight until I dropped dead besides him, I swore I would-

A voice rang cold and unfeelingly against the tense atmosphere like an echo, cutting my train of thoughts off.

"How does it feel to lose everything?"

I couldn't hold in the new hot tears welling up and pouring down my face. The silent anger binding my heart in knots seemed to distort into pure anguish when everything fully set in. My hands shook as I held them in front of me, seeing the coating of dried blood that should have been my own. My eyes darted wildly to my poor deceased love's sprawled corpse once more, and I knew right then that I would never see him alive again. He would never smile at me again with his own voluntary muscles, never hold my hand without just being a limp soulless body part, and never tell me he loved me again with his stupid, adorable laugh.

The words just fell from my lips without thought.

"You know exactly how it feels." I laughed roughly, watching the man's lips twitch to fire back a response. But he waited instead, eventually sighing and letting his eyes drop to the gravestone nearest to him, reading over the engraved letters. The name was worn down and obscured by nature, that it was impossible to read from where I was.

The heartless monster shifted his gaze to the setting sun, and the mask seemed to finally slip. He took a deep breath, letting his hands slide out of his pockets and rest at his side.

"Yeah. I do."
