Today my Advanced Clinical Pathology professor trailed off in the middle of class and said, “If I seem distracted, it’s because last night I was talking with a friend and she asked ‘Who’s that chick in Titanic?’ but all I heard was ‘Chicken Titanic,’ and ever since then I’ve been thinking about a chicken on the bow of the Titanic like Kate Winslet, wings held high. It’s all I can think about.”

ACTUALLY comb jellies are the oldest animals, not sponges!

New research hints that comb jelly may be Earth's oldest animal

Though they resemble jellyfish, comb jellies are distinctly different creatures.

There once was a man trying to make a point about the kitchen. "The sink!" He said "the sink is the single most important thing in the kitchen! It washes, it provides drinking water! It helps you prepare all of your meals and cleans your dishes for you after! The sink is the most important!"

"However," said a stranger coming through the crowd "you are forgetting about the countertop. It holds everything in the kitchen together. You prepare your food and serve your food ON the countertop. Even your prescious sink would have no where to be if it weren't for the countertop!"

The man was stunned. He wasn't prepared for a counterargument

So, my spouse has been exploring his gender lately; he also just built himself a new laptop. Today he told me that he in an attempt to process some genderfeels through metaphor, he made a post on a trans forum along the lines of: "I'm a lifelong Windows user and I think I'm pretty good at it. I want to find out what Linux has to offer but I'm afraid I wouldn't be any good at it. And how do you choose the right Linux distro, anyway? Do you have to try them all?"

The responses, he said, were a mix of useful advice about feeling out your gender and useful advice about choosing a Linux distro.

I love trans people so much

the first page of a black and white comic about a human and an angel. they're stargazing in front of a house, and the angel has shapeshifted into a more human-like form, although not a perfect copy. in the first panel the human says: "I can't believe a star could have such a lively past!" while watching the pegasus constellation. in the second panel, she asks: "What about that one?" while the angel says "Its history is quite fascinating, too". A tabby cat walks out of the house behind them. In the third panel, the angel says "In the beginning--" before being interrupted by the cat rubbing against its leg. In the fourth panel the angel looks alarmed, its head taking its real shape - a star with 4 eyes. In the fifth panel, it goes back to the previous state while telling the cat: "Hello. You've startled me". The cat responds, "mrrp"
The second page of the comic. The first panel is a closeup of the person's face. The second panel shows her petting the cat, now on her lap, while the angel looks in her direction. The combined text in these 2 panels says "You know... I wouldn't mind if you were your real self around me. Isn't being in this form exhausting for you?". The third panel shows both of their faces and the following exchange:
ANGEL: "It is."
HUMAN: "Then why don't you stop?"
ANGEL: "I assumed a more familiar shape would be less frightening for you."
HUMAN: "Hah! Well, my point still stands."
The fourth and final panel shows her saying: "In the end, the choice is yours. But we're friends - you don't have to be uncomfortable for my sake." The angel is seen in the back, looking at her. Besides the angel, its true form can be seen - it is covered in feathers, has wings, a star instead of a head and four eyes.

comic about angels and friends. writing the alt text for this one was fun (cat noises)

So this is the first set of images I've made dedicated to two of my first ever OCs, believe it or not these two date back to 2004 and 2005, the years I first started taking art and character design seriously. So here we have these two, Turquoise the Vaporeon and Lily the Skitty, enjoying a fun day of shopping together before having a McDonalds, then going home and enjoying a cosy evening reading stories :)

Also as a small cameo, I have once again drawn @patricia-taxxon 's Pix & Bit OCs, if you can't see them take a look at the shelf of plushies in the toy store :) I've decided I'll drop these two into image sets now and then, since they're fun to draw and Patricia's work is worth supporting!!

Make sure to read their bios in their profile pictures too!!

A comic. Panel 1: Emma is standing at her bathroom mirror, her hair is pulled back and she’s putting on mascara. Panel 2: Emma, facing away, pulls on a top over her bralette and skirt. Panel 3: we see Emma’s hand reaching for a fake mustache. Panel 4: She is affixing it to her face. She looks frustrated.
A comic. Panel 1: A newscaster sits at a desk and speaks to the camera. “Beginning today, the Factual Accuracy in Gender Roles Act goes into full effect. Panel 2: B-roll of two women sitting at a table, talking. They are each wearing fake mustaches. Voiceover: “the controversial new law requires transgendered individuals to wear state-mandated accessories that identify them by their assigned sex at birth. Panel 3: a politician speaks angrily into several microphones. “No longer can these deceitful transgenders hide their TRUE selves!” Panel 4: The newscaster says: “to provide funding for the new initiative, public libraries will be closed statewide on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday, Fridays, and weekends.”
A comic. Panel 1: Emma, wearing a fake mustache, pushes a shopping cart through the produce section of a grocery store. Panel 2: A man wearing a large ribbon in his hard approaches from the other direction. Panel 3: they pass each other and share a glance. Emma feigns a smile under her mustache. The man frowns. Panel 4: they each continue walking in their own directions, both looking down.
A comic. Panel 1: a trans journalist speaks to the camera. “Great news today from Pennsylvania where state legislature has voted to repeal a recently-instated law that was negatively affecting its gender-nonconforming community. Panel two: a selfie of someone in women’s lingerie with a bow on the back of their head. VO: the state-mandated gender markers became widely fetishized almost immediately upon going into effect. Panel 3: VO: “public outcry swiftly followed in response to the markers’ newfound lewdness.” An interview with an angry mother is shown: “women parading around publicly in fake mustaches?? I don’t care what they do behind closed doors — just stop rubbing it in our faces!” Panel 4: The journalist says, “to fund the repeal, public libraries in the state will no longer open Thursdays.”
