Jeon Jungkook is a name known throughout the whole kingdom.

He is known as the man made of steel, the bravest soul out of all that lives in the kingdom—his name is carried with not only respect and adoration but fear.

Knight Jungkook is known for not only a body made of steel, indestructible, but also a stone-cold heart that doesn’t even think about such things like emotions.

But then, it all changed when he saw the flower that is you.

“Must you always look like you are suffering, Jungkook?” King Taehyung asks his knight, and Jungkook keeps the same poker face as before, showing no ounce of emotion.

“I always look like this, your majesty.” Jungkook says, with his usual monotone voice, and King Taehyung sighs. His knight may be the best of all men in the kingdom, but godness can he be annoying at times.

“A herbal remedies villager is visiting us today, Jungkook—so, please try and keep your face more friendly or something. You know how villagers always cower in front of your intimidating gaze.” King Taehyung sighs, and Jungkook fights the urge to roll his eyes.

“I cannot help my face, your majesty.”

Taehyung groans, “Ugh, fine, whatever.”

As soon as the doors are open, King Taehyung fixes his posture, and eyes all over the throne room are glued to the two figures that stand behind the open doors, waiting to be invited in.

Jungkook eyes the old man, nothing he has never seen before. The man does not have any sign of sharp weapons hidden on his attire, nor does he seem to have the physique of a man who will try any type of malicious intent towards the king.

But what Jungkook knew more than anyone, is that looks could be deceiving.

And when he goes to scan the woman beside the old man, Jungkook experiences a shortness of breath, as if his lungs stopped working out of his will. Never has Jungkook seen such a beautiful sight, enough to make the most feared man in the kingdom become putty with just your eyes.

Jungkook has seen many beautiful women in his life, many attempted to seduce, and although some could be a good way to blow off some steam one night, none of them were ever able to make him feel so pathetic like you. As if the world stopped working.

With one glance of yours, you have done the impossible.

“Hello your majesty! I am the western village’s herbal remedies expert, and I hear you need my expertees?” Your father asks, and King Taehyung nods his head. But your eyes never leave the mysterious brown pupils of the man whose face seems like stone, and gaze feels like the coldest breeze of winter.

“Ah, yes! Many of my bravest knights have been hurt by our most recent war, and we need the best help we can need. Thank goodness we won the war, or else there would be much worse casualties—and it is all thanks to my mightiest knight, Jungkook!”

King Taehyung pats Jungkook on the back, a glint of mischief written all over Taehyung’s eyes as he stares at Jungkook, and he immediately knows the king is up to something.

“We are incredibly grateful for you, Knight Jungkook.” You say while both you and the old man bows, and Jungkook fights everything inside him to not let his cheeks show not even the smallest tint of red.

King Taehyung smirks, “I will take you to the men.” He points at the old man, “And Knight Jungkook will take you to the other wing.”

You blink, and suddenly, your father and king Taehyung leave the throne room, and only you and Jungkook stay behind.

Silence surrounds you, and your eyes don’t leave Knight Jungkook’s, your body too terrified to move your body, your brain reminding you of the rumours that surround the vicious knight in front of you.

You’ve always been scared when anyone mentioned the name of Jungkook, as anyone in the village did. Of how Jungkook carried his sword as easily as he does his body, how never once has an enemy claimed victory over him. How Knight Jungkook would always finish any enemy that dared defy the crown of the king or his people, and have sent thousands straight to hell with his bloody sword.

He spared mercy to no one, and his name haunted commoners like you, used to inflict terror on every village.

Seconds pass and neither of you move

With a clearing of your throat, and with every brave part of your body, you decide to speak first, breaking the few seconds of awkward silence.

“Hi.”

It didn’t take long for you to forget about your past judgement of Jungkook, and soon, both your names were written in the stars as you fell harder for each other each moon that passed.

“Jungkook, what are you doing here?!” You gasp while holding the door, and immediately start looking everywhere to see if any villagers still lurk through the village streets. “What if a villager sees you?!”

Knights were not very common to be spotted on village grounds, only when a war or battle was happening nearby, which always causes great damage to houses and makes every villager panic.

Your anxiousness is in juxtaposition to Jungkook, who stays calm, and holds a smile on his lips as his eyes full of love gaze at your figure.

“Can I not come here to see my beautiful love?” Jungkook leans to catch your lips on a kiss, but instead of welcoming his mouth, you harshly pull him into your home and immediately close the door.

“You must be insane!” You whisper-yell, and Jungkook blinks, staring at you with confusion plastered all over his face.

“Why?”

“No villager can see you, or they will all panic!”

“Oh.” Jungkook finally realises his mistake, but shrugs, and leans for a kiss again, which you finally reciprocate.

Jungkook smiles into the kiss, and whispers to your ears. “You make me reckless, princess.”

Three years later.

“My love, I’m home!” Jungkook shouts as he enters his home, putting his sword next to the door as he starts getting rid of his heavy attire.

Jungkook hears steps, and soon, you’re running to him, a fond smile forming on his face when his eyes catch yours.

You run to him and wrap your hands around his waist in a tight hug, small tears running down your cheeks, staining your husband’s shoulder while Jungkook hugs you back, just as tight, both of you letting out your deepest emotions.

Thirty moons passed since you’ve seen each other last, and every minute that passed, your heart bled more and more for the touch of your husband, for at least any word that he was okay.

Every day spent with your heartstrings pulled in fear for your husband, of the possibility that you may never see him again. You know there wasn’t much to be scared of since Jungkook is the best at what he does, but you couldn’t help it. Every day on the battlefield is a risk in your eyes.

And Jungkook swore his soul would be sucked out of his body because of the overwhelming feeling of missing you, of yearning for your soothing touch after a day at the palace, of your skins touching each other in the most intimate ways.

Being apart wasn’t something you both were a stranger to, but no matter how many times Jungkook was away for another mission under the king’s orders, your hearts would still feel the painful stab of not being together.

 “I missed you so much.” You sigh and Jungkook hums, continuing his kisses to your collarbone, his eyes forming the littlest of water.

“Missed you too, my love. There was not a day in which I didn't think of you.” Jungkook places a kiss on your forehead, and you finally break your much needed hug. You look him in the eyes and caress his cheek, gasping lightly when you see bruises on his skin.

“Oh, honey, you must be careful with yourself.” You frown, but your husband only smiles fondly, his heart spitting fireworks as you care for him.

If anyone were to know about how the ruthless, fearful Jungkook, with eyes that could kill, melted because of a single person, no one would ever believe it. But here you were, looking at him with all the love in the world, enough to make his cold heart turn to liquid.

“It’s alright, my love. You should see the other men.” Your husband smirks and you roll your eyes before pulling him to the chair beside your fire.

“Sit here, I’ll grab medicine.” Jungkook follows your instructions, but before you could walk away, a hand grabs your wrist and pulls you toward his lap. You yelp, and your husband only chuckles.

“Godness, Jungkook!” He giggles and you only huff in return, but a smile soon creeps up on your lips when he starts placing butterfly kisses all over your face.

“Can I not worship my wife I missed so much?”

You giggle, “But honey, I must cure your bruises!”

“They can wait, my love.” Jungkook presses kisses to your neck and you hum sweetly, enjoying the warm feeling of your souls finally together again.

“Are you going to travel for the king again soon?” You say with a frown, your heart squeezing on itself, already preparing for the bad news that he has to go away from you again. Being apart is torture for your binded souls, and you don’t know if you can endure such distance again in the near future. Your heart, your body, your soul, may not be able to take it—to be away from your soulmate.

“The king put me off duty for thirty moons, my love. We have all the time in the world to be together.” Jungkook says through a warm smile, and you sigh in relief, your head falling to his shoulder as your love presses kisses to the skin of your neck.

“I love you, Jeon Jungkook.” You turn around to face his eyes, and drown yourself on the millions of stars that live inside his pupils.

Jungkook smiles, “I love you, too, Jeon _____.”
