Surrender - Prologue

The rain wasn’t stopping any time soon, and his gray sweatshirt and holey jeans, fit for the weather occasion. His eyes hung low as he watch his feet step over the cracks in the sidewalk. His hood was up protecting him from the raindrops that were falling. His hands were deeply in his pockets, trying to keep warm as he picked up his pace just a slim. A left turn occurred ahead, and he veered off pushing a door open to a building. A building that meant everything to him.

He picked his head up, and his eyes shifted from the ground to what was in front of him. A reception desk, with a lady sitting behind it, typing away on her keyboard. His steps weren’t quiet, but the building itself was quiet, and that’s why she heard him. “Who are you?” He put a fist over his mouth and coughed, before saying, “I’m Min Yoongi.” She glared at him, indicating that she wanted more information out of him. “Uh, I’m supposed to meet with the CEO here at 1:30.” The typing started again, like she was in a race on who can type the longest page the fastest. When it stopped, she looked up at Yoongi and smiled. “He’ll be right with you.”

Sitting in a nearby chair, he took out his phone to check the time but he was distracted by the picture of you and him on his lock screen. Your arms dangling around his neck, while kissing his cheek. This moment seemed like forever ago, as now he’s been caught up in his work, trying to get recognized, trying to make it big, trying to make you have a better life. Yoongi was so absorbed in the picture, thinking about that moment and other memories you’ve shared that he barely heard the cough that came from his right side. Locking his phone, he stood up and wiped his hands on his pants, it wasn’t going to do much since he was soaked from the walk over, but at least it’ll be a better excuse saying his hands were wet from the rain rather than sweat from his nerves. “Ah, Min Yoongi. The man I’ve been dying to meet.” Yoongi let out a side grin as the clasped hands. “Now if you follow me, right this way.”

Yoongi walked side-by-side down the never ending hallway, to the mans office. When they finally arrived, the door was shut and no one was allowed in. It was a private meeting, between the CEO and future star. “Are you thirsty? Water? Coffee?” He said before he sat down in his black, leather chair behind his wooden desk.

“Uh, coffee would be great actually, thanks.” The CEO went over to the coffee pot behind him and poured Yoongi a cup along with himself. He then straightened his suit jacket and leaned back in his chair, taking a sip.

“I guess I should start with introductions.” He coughed and straightened his back, to make look more professional. “I am Lee Minjae, or call me Jae for short. This is my company, BH Entertainment. It’s a small company, not like the others you see out there. In this company, we are family. We are going to go through many struggles together, but I have your back through it all. My plan here is to make everyone big, a superstar, a worldstar. You must start from the bottom though, get your name known and then we’ll go from there.” There was no smile to his face now, strictly business at this moment, nothing to smile about.

Yoongi swallowed his sip of coffee before talking. “How many people do you have under your company?”

“Such a great question from a guy like you.” There it was, the smile. “I have a girl group in training that consists of six members. A rap group that consists of three members, and I’m working on another group, maybe a solo artist,” A wicked smile appeared on his face, “I’m not sure what I want yet.”

“Well obviously you must know something if you contacted me to meet with you today.” Yoongi was straight to the point. This is Yoongi’s future that is on the line, he isn’t going to have someone toy with it.

“That you are right Mr. Min.” He leaned forward and clasped his hands together on the desk. “You’re great, you really are. The tracks you have produced are one of a kind, the thing is,” he clicked his tongue on the roof of his mouth, “I think you can do better.” Yoongi wanted so badly to scoff at the man, all of the hours and days he had put into making demo tracks and someone was criticizing it. “By better I mean, you can have the computers you need to create better tracks, and that’s why I think you would be a great addition to our company.” Yoongi sat there in silence, comprehending what’s going on. An offer of a lifetime, something that he has always wanted and it’s right here in front of him. “Being an addition to our company means that you need to practically give up everything, and your focus will only be on making music and working.”

“Yes, yes of course I understand.” The smile on Yoongi’s face grew wider as he shook hands again with his now CEO. Hard work pays off, and he finally chased his dream that he’s always been after.

“Welcome to BH Entertainment Min Yoongi. We have contracts to discuss and rules that need to be made. Rules as in, you get a new phone and the only contact information you have is your family and the important people, like me. You must move in to one of the apartments that are near us because we pay for your housing.”

“When do you want me moved in by?”

“As soon as possible.”

Yoongi pulled out his phone, pulling your name up. “I have to text my girlfriend telling her this.”

“Yoongi.”

“Yes sir?”

“When I said you have to give up everything, I meant her too.”
