My little brother had a chorus concert the other day. He did so well, and I was able to clearly hear his voice. So afterwards, when he asked if I had been able to hear him, I answered, “Of course buddy boy, I could pick out your voice even in a crowd of thousands.”

And my sick little mind immediately twisted my words of praise into a nightmare of a scenario. For no given reason, my brother was being swallowed up in a panicked crowd. He was crying out but I couldn’t hear him. Whenever I thought I saw him, I could never reach him.

It’s been screwing with my head and recirculating and gradually getting worse, so I figured I’d share. Enjoy 🫶🏼
