Here is a wonderful, beautiful, amazing drawing my friend did of my OC, Elaine Christine Rothschild-Kirk, otherwise known as El, for my Star Trek TOS fanfiction on AO3, a burnt child loves the fire.

When I was in middle school, some popular girl in my class went up to be, hands on her hips, and said, ‘you know I hate you, right?’ Like she expected that to make an impact.

Girl I could not care less if you hate me or not. Why should I? Your opinion of me does nothing to help me grow. I don’t even know your name. You are insignificant to me, yet I seem to be all you think about? Why is that? Why should I care what you think of me when you hold no power over my mind, body, or soul? You say ‘I hate you’ like it’s supposed to mean something. There’s so many other things you could do with your life, other than hate someone, so why choose to actively think about someone who makes you feel badly rather then just getting over it? I rarely hate, because all it is is a waste of brainpower and devotion that could be going towards love, something to help others.

Anyway I just remembered the look of her face when I shrugged and walked away and started laughing at like, 04:00 am this morning.

When I was a teenager and still on Neopets I was part of a pretty big Star Trek guild and eventually became part of its council, with the solemn duty of creating weekly polls. Well one day I created the poll "Which would win in a fight? Borg Cube or Death Star?". Naturally, since this was a Star Trek guild, the answer was overwhelmingly "Borg Cube", but someone did have the rationality to point out we were biased.

So I look up a pretty prominent Star Wars guild and message one of their council and ask them to poll the same question and get back to me in a week. They do, and naturally the fuckin geeks said "Death Star".

So then I look up a Stargate guild and messaged the lead council member, saying the same thing, and they get back to me almost immediately saying that the Death Star would immediately one-shot a Borg Cube but they would never be able to do it again to another Cube. And I took that wisdom back to my guild and we were mollified, and for one moment the Nerd World was peaceful.
