The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?”

It was day 4 now, day 4 of Jacob avoiding her and she had had it. She was going to find him and she was going to figure out what on earth was going on with him.

They hadn’t spoken or even seen each other since Jacob abruptly told her that she had to leave and that they weren’t working out.

The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotional turmoil for her. What was she supposed to think? Everything had been so amazing, she loved him and she thought that he had reciprocated her feelings, was she wrong?

Well, she intended to find out, if that jerk thought he could just end their relationship then hide from her, well, he had another thing coming.

She immediately began searching for him, asking anyone she came across if they had seen him, the answer across the board seemed to be that he had gone to see Joseph, so that too was where she would go.

~time skip~

She hopped out of her truck upon reaching the heart of Joseph’s territory, his main church, and almost immediately spotted Joseph, speaking with Jacob about something. While every fibre of her body was screaming for her to go confront Jacob now, she didn’t dare interrupt the Father while he was speaking to Jacob, so she hung back, just outside Jacob’s feild of view and waited.

It wasn’t long that she was waiting that Joseph spotted her, turned to Jacob and whispered something to him before bidding in her direction and walking into the church.

Jacob slowly turned around to face her, seeming to hesitate a moment before walking over to where she stood, arms crossed by the truck.

“I know what it is that you’re here to say, but I’m sorry our relationship cannot continue. I’m scarred both physically and mentally, not too mention I’m nearly 50, there are plenty of younger, better men for you. My life needs to be dedicated to the family and it’s protection, I can’t afford to be distracted by you. I’m sorry, but I’m having you transferred to Faith’s region, you can help train her forces in the Henbane.”

“DISTRACTED BY ME!?” You were shocked, and probably yelling, but how do you even begin to respond to what he had just said? You loved him, and what? He just thinks of you as some distraction? “I thought you cared about me, I thought there was something there.” You were trying your best to fight off tears at this point, not wanting to end up looking weak during this confrontation.

He said nothing, just looked at you sadly before starting to walk away.

All you could do was let the tears fall as you whispered, “I love you” turning back to get into the truck. When suddenly there was a firm hand pulling you back.

Jacob pulled you around, “What did you just say?”

“I love you. You enormously stubborn pain in the ass” And that was all it took, the dam burst and you broke down, sobbing. And honestly you must have passed out or something then, because the next thing you felt were rough, calloused lips caressing yours and being held in Jacob’s firm embrace.
