Photos I took last month while on a two hour bike ride from Kuchinotsu Port in southern Shimabara peninsula to a New Zealander’s birthday party in Shimabara City in the north-east.

After all, there’s no reason we should sit back and remain the victims of journalists. People have been redefining themselves for centuries to gain power and solidarity. More recently “nerd” and “slut” have emerged as sources of pride and group identity for other maligned groups of people. I’m tired of sitting by and watching others control the narrative around me..."

I put up Inside the Head of Jeremy Sorese (ジェレミ・ソリスの頭の中）on December 18th at Kawaura Jr. High School, one of my schools . It features pages of his sketchbook drawn while he was living in Europe last year. I'm excited to be sharing his outstanding work with the students for the remainder of the month.

I've had enough with the media's disparaging use of the word "hipster" towards today's young creatives. I think it's time to take back our narrative and defend all the great aspects of our lifestyle.
